Prism 100% Cotton Extra Thick Professional Photography Backdrop 9x18 ft Black, Brushed for Low Light Reflectance and Bleed Through, Sustainable Organic Cotton Muslin with No Microplastic Shedding

Upon the recommendation of a YouTuber living in a Prius, I bought this to use as a curtain behind my fronts seats, for car camping. Nice, heavy material, very black. Perfect for creating curtains, dividers, window covers, cargo covers, and in general creating stealth about what's in your vehicle. I made a curved (inverted U shape) curtain rod out of a 4-foot aluminum ruler, which fits into the curtain-rod pocket of this. I jam the ruler between the tops of the two seatbelt retractors. I drilled holes in the ruler to install stops to keep it from getting down into the seatbelt mechanism, and to adjust the tension just right. I used 3 thicknesses in the part where someone can see through 2 windows without it, 2 thicknesses below that. While folding it to do that, I also left some extra material above the rod pocket, to stuff between rod and headliner. It works perfectly! Just be sure to make it at least a foot wider than you think you need, to leave yourself room to Velcro it at a width wider than the rod, because the side of the car is wider than the rod near the roof. Having a bit of slack is good, for when stuff gets jammed against it when packing. Another great use, is to throw out your SUV/hatchback roller-shade type cover that always gets in the way of cargo. Just throw this over your cargo, and all that people will see from outside is blackness, aka nothing. Make it way bigger than you think you need, so you can fit it over stuff piled up to your roof, with the back seats flipped down to use a hatchback like a cargo van.

Perfect backdrop love the big 9x18 size bought in all 3 colors (black, white, green). Super easy to steam. I have backdrops from other companies & these new ones are by far my favorite fabric, others are super thin.

I purchased this item about a month ago and, after some 4 shoots with it, must say that I'm very pleased. Since I do my photoshoots in a 2 car garage the size is just perfect for it -- not too long and not too short. I should note, however, that the size is not actually 10x20. It's more like 9x18. The quality is actually better than I expected. There were a few loose threads but nothing more than that. It's a little on the thin side but unless you have a light source behind it, it's not a problem at all. In fact, it allows the background to be moved around much easier and takes up less space in the washer. As with all dark colored dye backdrops, I do recommend you wash it at least once before using for the first time. When storing it, I crunch it up in a top open bag. The wrinkles that come from crunching it really don't show up much and a few times when it does, it actually adds character to the background. Muslins backdrops should not be compared to paper anymore than apples should be compared to oranges. They each have their own attributes. Having used both paper and muslin, however, I'm actually beginning to favor muslin due to the ease of storage and setting up. Muslin is extremely forgiving when setting up as opposed to the 9ftx12yds. paper rolls which can easily get out of hand, but as I said before they both have their advantages. Anyways, I highly recommend this product. You get alot of bang for your buck.

I ordered this 10x20 back drop along with another white one and a stand. There was a problem with the stand which originally took some time to sort through but they made it right. The stand and both backdrops arrived promptly. The backdrop was shipped in its own role rather than folded or requiring ironing or other fuss...a very nice touch! I was a bit hesitant at first especially in relation to the thickness of this muslin. While it IS muslin and NOT gauze like many of the super inexpensive versions being sold on Ebay or even here on Amazon, it isn't super thick so I was worried about opacity and unfiromity of coverage. For the price, I figured I'd have to make due and fix in Photoshop....happily that was NOT the case. The muslin performed well and looked very nice in the photos. The black came out a nice deep black and ditto for the white. Not grey, not yellow...black and white as each was supposed to be. The sizing is slightly smaller than 10x20 as mentioned in the item description but the muslin is of a decent enough quality it should wear well. Although originally hesitant and somewhat taken aback by the issue with the stand, this seller followed through and made everything "right". Nice price, nice seller, nice photos with this and the other white backdrop. Thanks!

Because of the low price, I was surprised at the good quality. As a serious hobbyist, I have used other background materials. While this one isn't *as* good as others, it's very close, and less than half the price of similarly-sized products. No, it will not block light coming from behind the cloth, but that's not really the point of a backdrop (which is to provide a clutter-free background for a photo). With the right amount of light on the subject, and the subject a few feet in front of this dropcloth, the background goes completely black, which is the whole point of a black background. (The attached photo is unedited.) Cons -- all very minor: (1) From reading other reviews, I was led to believe this would come with a cloth container for storage/transport, but it did not come with such a container. So I will have to find something in which to store/transport it. (2) There were a few brightly colored pieces of fuzz stuck to the cloth when I first unwrapped it -- green, red, and orange -- which was weird, but they came off easily. (3) It's nine feet by 18 feet, as indicated in parentheses on the product page, but I think the *name* of the product should drop the "10x20" part, in the interest of honesty. Edited to add: the seller contacted me after this review, to make sure that everything was working fine, which I found unusually helpful. This seems like a company that stands by its products.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received this 10 X 20 black Muslin backdrop. First of all the weave is tight and the muslin is quite heavy. So heavy in fact that I've ordered a sturdier frame as mine became difficult to balance under the weight. The color is a true black - I've read many complaints in other reviews that this is isn't true. I would beg to differ and point out that lighting is everything. Well, at least 99% of the battle. By adjusting my constant lighting and diffusers I can create shades of charcoal, gray and the deepest black without the least bit of shadow. Muslin of this weight and quality can easily be found at $400 + for this size - but for under $40 ? it's more than an incredible bargain - it's an absolute steal. The Muslin arrived folded and wrapped in thick sealed plastic packed inside a sturdy box, inside an equally sturdy shipping box. Yes, rolled Muslin saves you the trouble of removing wrinkles - however I believe one of the best and most affordable investments you can make for your studio be it your first one or professional is a portable garment steamer. These are inexpensive, have multiple uses and are inexpensive. What is more they remove all traces of wrinkles and creases in Muslin is a matter of seconds with just a few swipes. I have a portable home unit by Conair that works beautifully. I believe the cost is somewhere around $40. Professional dry cleaner steamers are available as well but run well over $150 and unless you're pressing shirts on the side in my opinion would be overkill. The quality of stitching on the backdrop is impressive and the sleeve is double stitched for extra security and will fir over any support pole without a single problem.

This backdrop is not true black. It's very thin and you can see right through it in a room with regular ambient light; forget a flash hitting it. Not only that, it wrinkles like crazy. I received it in a bag and took forever to iron. That sucked. For that reason, I haven't used it since I purchased it. I purchase a large piece of black velvet from a local fabric store and that stuff works awesomely. It cost me about 50 bucks, but well worth it. Nothing absorbs light more than velvet. Don't waste your money on this. I kept it to use as a dust cover for my gear when I'm not using it.

This item was so awesome, I just ordered the white one as well!!! I recently spent the same amount for a standard 9X7 black muslin backdrop but it turned out kind of gray and see through, very thin. When this one came in I laid them on top of each other to compare. This on is over twice the size, which is what I was looking for. It is also much thicker and heavier and appears to be great quality. It is not see through like the other one, I can't get any ambient light to pass through in a normally lit room, only direct light with a flashlight. My only concern is that my stand may not be able to hold up the extra weight of the bigger backdrops. Great quality for the price, well worth the deal they are offering now!!! Get it while you can!!!!

Bien arrivé en temps et en heure. La qualité général du tissu est à la hauteur de son prix, bon marché et acceptable. Mis à part les dimensions un peu juste, le tissu est correct pour une toile de fond. Et vue le prix, cela fera son affaire ... Un TOP 5 étoiles pour le SAV qui a assuré le suivi qualité et proposé des solutions jusqu'au bout...

Davvero ottimo fondale. Prima di tutto, è enorme! Secondo, è un nero formidabile. Ho comprato anche il bianco che devo ancora provare, sicuramente con questo saranno più evidenti le pieghe del tessuto quindi andrà stirato meglio. Pienamente soddisfatto. Ad un prezzo onesto un materiale ottimo

Es lo que es, una tela para estudio. Es muy grande, estupenda. Viene en una bolsa negra con un cuadrado de plastico por si almacenas varias telas que veas el color sin abrir la bolsa. No olvideis plancharla antes de usarla porque viene muy bien doblada. Vino el dia esperado y todo perfecto como siempre.

Pensavo meglio, sapevo che arrivasse pieno di pieghe e l'ho subito stirato col vapore e riposto arrotolato su un tubo. Quando l'ho montato sono ritornate pieghe e strane strisce lungo tutto il telo, vedremo se stirandolo quandè montato spariscono. appena lo provo con le luci vedremo cosa ne esce....nella foto non era steso per bene ma era per mettere in vista le strisce.Una piccola aggiunta, un grosso plauso al venditore che viste queste mie perplessità senza dire niente mi ha inviato un nuovo telo. Che dire raramente si trovano venditori simili, per questo alzo il voto.

Un buen fondo, amplio, de un negro intenso y una textura mínima. Con su funda para protegerlo de la suciedad. Acompaña el envío con un par de detalles: Un paño de limpieza para lentes y una minilinterna led. El envío a tiempo y todo correcto.
