The DJ3 Portable Door Lock Brace: My New Travel Sidekick!
I picked up the DJ3 Portable Door Lock Brace back in August 2024, and let me tell you, this little gadget has become my ultimate travel buddy. It’s the best thing to happen to my peace of mind since I discovered noise-canceling headphones on a long-haul flight full of crying babies.First of all, the installation is so easy, even I could do it without consulting YouTube. Seriously, it’s like the IKEA of door locks—minus the confusing instructions and leftover screws. You just pop it under the door handle, and voilà, instant fortress mode activated! I felt like a secret agent securing my hotel room, ready to take on the world (or at least the room service delivery guy). This lock brace is compact enough to fit in my carry-on, sandwiched between my travel snacks and that novel I swear I’ll finish someday. It’s like carrying a tiny bouncer with you, ready to stand guard at any door. Whether I’m in a hotel, an Airbnb, or that questionable roadside motel (don’t ask), this little hero keeps me feeling safe and sound. The real magic happened during my last trip. There I was, in my hotel room, indulging in a true-crime documentary binge when I heard a mysterious noise outside. My imagination went wild—was it a ghost? A burglar? Just someone who got lost looking for the ice machine? Thanks to my trusty DJ3, I didn’t even flinch. I just sat back, sipped my overpriced minibar soda, and let the lock do its thing.Even at home, I’ve found a use for it. My cat, Mr. Whiskers, has a habit of barging in while I’m trying to enjoy some “me time.” Not anymore! The DJ3 keeps him out, and I get to enjoy my bath without an audience. In short, the DJ3 Portable Door Lock Brace is my knight in shining armor—or rather, my knight in compact, easy-to-install form. If you want to travel with confidence or just keep your cat at bay, this is your go-to gadget. It’s like having a little security guard in your pocket, minus the judgmental looks when you come back to your room with a second dessert.

Haven’t used it yet
I bought this to use when I travel. I wanted to give myself a little bit more safety while I am in my room asleep. Out of all of the similar devices that I have seen for sale, this one seemed to me to be the easiest to put on the door and take off. It also seemed to have the highest number of quality reviews, which is something I always look for when purchasing a product..The device seems to be well made, and from what I have tried at home, it’s easy to install and take off. It also is able to maintain the door secure without slipping or sliding. I have not yet used it for travel. (I plan to do it later this year.). However, if the tests that I have conducted with it at home or any indication, I think it is gonna work just as I intended, and as advertised.

Does not keep anyone out.
I followed the instructions carefully and watched online tutorials, but this product did not live up to its promises. The advertisement claims it will keep a door secure, but it doesn’t even provide a delay in the event of forced entry. It feels like false advertising. I highly do not recommend this product if you're looking for actual security.I don't understand why there are so many positive reviews. The people testing it out don’t actually show or try breaking in in their videos. Honestly, I’ve even got thick carpet, and it still doesn’t work as advertised.

VERY SMALL
Adjusting screw is difficult to do. Much smaller and less robust in size and materials. The stop is very small, should be bigger. If plate is not fully flush with the bottom of the door, it will slip.

Works great
Bought this for my teacher wife who tested it out with some other teachers. She says it works great. Hopefully she will never have to actually use it

Essential travel item
It's small, yet beefy - it was able to visibly lift the door in its frame as I tightened the screw. I can only imagine what the XL version of this thing might do! It's easy to install and has spacers available for use if the gap between the door and jamb is too large.I didn't do a kick test - the hotels I stayed in probably would've protested, and the vendor's website has some convincing videos posted. To insure against someone else doing that I paired this with one of the two other styles of lock from other vendors. This is the only one I was able to use for doors between adjacent rooms. All three - this one, B0B8MP69KX, and B0BJJV6H5R - weigh about two pounds together. They might be an easy and useful addition to your 'travel kit' whenever a hotel stay is on the itinerary.I think it's a good idea to have something else as a backup for a different reason - this (and both options I used) doesn't work with all doors, but I was able to use at least two everywhere I went. Out l of the three, this was the most versatile: there was only one location on our recent 18-day road trip where I couldn't use this - there was NO gap under the door.
