Wow - how did I live without this? Charges my Note 2 like nothing I've ever seen.
You can Juice Defender all you want - but we've all been stuck with a dead battery, and if you're at the office, next to a plug - no problem. But if you're at Disney World, or the latest super awesome outlet mall, and your phone went dead because you took a bunch of pictures and Google+, DropBox, Box, OneDrive and Sharefile (hey - you can't trust just one cloud storage company, right?) all decided to upload them for safe keeping when you had crap coverage so your phone's radio has been blasting signals so powerful your phone feels like a hot coal, what do you do? You still need your phone to meet up with your guests, kids, etc. - whatever you need it for - you need it and you can't strap yourself down to an AC outlet, assuming you had a charger and could find an outlet. You NEED this battery charger. You've seen the excellent reviews with hard data. You've seen the reviews saying Anker products are always awesome. I can't offer more data like that. All I can offer is advice - you NEED this charger.Even at the office, since my workplace is a collaborative environment and I'm not in one place for long, I found this to be indispensable. I tuck it in my bag, and I can charge my phone wherever I am - I don't have to locate an AC outlet all the time.It seems to hold a charge forever if you don't use it, and the little light makes it easy to tell how much juice it's got left, and also is super cool when you are trying to locate it in your huge, black backpack with all the other techno-bits you carry. They say design is subjective, but I really like the shape and case - it's solid, not too heavy (this is a big battery, though - it's much heavier than your phone), rounded so I can identify it by feel but not so rounded it doesn't sit in a stable fashion on a table (it's not a Weeble). And no switches to monkey with. It's one very functional, yet simple, pleasing design that should be a model for other devices. Also, it charges my Note 2 faster than almost any other AC based charger I've found. Certainly faster than the 2 amp Samsung OEM charger. Much, much faster than any crappy 1 amp charger. The Note 2 is a battery killer if you're not careful - so I do a lot of "Oh s***, it's almost dead" type charging - and this is the fastest way, even if I were next to an AC outlet. You NEED this charger.

Anker 2nd Gen Astro2 9000mAh External Battery Charger
An excellent product! I will keep this on my Gift List . . . permanently! What was missing from the other reviews were how long it took to charge up from the box. I started charging my Anker about 12:30 PM and about 2:30/3 PM it finished. I shook it first, the white circle came on, rolled around in a circle and then I took out a similar cable to the one that ships with it and started charging it. The cable that comes with it is small and short, but that makes it easy to charge your phone in the nice, soft black carry pouch that comes with it. But the carrying pouch is big enough for my HTC One V and the Anker. That made me smile because I do need a pouch for my phone.I decided to do another test. My phone was 23% down. I used the Smart plug to charge my phone. I started the charge around 6:53 PM and it was finished charging at 8:50 PM at 100%. I wanted to know just how long it would take to charge that small amount so I'll know when I get in a cab/train/plane/rickshaw or anywhere just how long it will take to get me back to 100%.This is the best thing I've bought for 2013! I plan on getting a ton of these because it charges beautifully. It's easy on the eye and the wallet. No fingerprints when you handle it. It's cool to the touch when it's charging and when it not on. I love it. It's small and I like watching that little white circle fade in and out while it charges. I highly advise everyone to get one after November 22nd, 2013 and or buy another one before October 11th. The air during that time will make your electronics glitchy and you will be unhappy if you buy anything during that time. Communications will be complete haywire and it will be around the USA and the world. But after that, I plan on buying another one as soon as I get paid, maybe the "lipstick" one. I can't tell you how happy I'm going to be on the train traveling and I notice my phone's battery is down. Right now I do carry a portable adapter charger but the trains don't always let you use your charger. Two weeks ago, a man asked everyone who got on if they had a charger. His phone was down and he was desperate. This Anker has put a HUGE smile on my face . . . forever!!! Finally, I'm in love with a company that has finally put out a 1st class product and the packaging is nice as well. The Apple 30-pin charger that comes with it, is for Apple's iPhone up to 4s. It won't work with those 5s at all. But it was nice of them to put one in the box which I now have in a ZipLoc bag. LOL!!!Here's what I recorded while it was charging my HTC One V start at 6:53 PM:6:53 PM77%7:05 PM79%7:15 PM81%7:24 PM83%7:26 PM84%7:31 PM85%7:36 PM86%7:38 PM87%7:45 PM88%7:48 PM89%7:53 PM90%7:57 PM91%8:03 PM92%8:1293%8:14 PM94%8:18 PM95%8:26 PM96%8:29 PM97%8:38 PM98%8:50 PM100%I needed to see just how long it would take and the timing on this isn't bad at all. How many time have I pulled my phone out of my cargo pants pocket, only to discover it was on for over 3 hours while I was walking around. Then when I get on a train/bus, I can't read or listen to music.Well, Earl Klugh, here I come, be-bopping home with a pep in my step!!! YIPPEE!!!
