Is there just one brush or do you get two (one for each hand) ?

Depends on which OPTION you Select on any given day being listed. See boxes below title area where you select COLORS and item or items in pairs and as of 2022 today they have sets of 4 even where you get one large and three small face ones. So the lower or lowest price today is for single large body sized scrubbers. A bit more and they are paired with smaller face scrubbers too and then for the most cost it's the set of 4. So none of the sets are matching colors that might help you figure out what you are ordering too. I know Amazon does not always make it easy as they think they are for buyers So much better they could do.

I like the design of the finger holes. Can anyone compare this to a silicone dish sponge (I want to use it for dishes)?

I bought a silicone dish sponge. As stated by another person, it didn't do well in cleaning food stuck on the dishes. In addition, for other dishes, I didn't feel it was cleaning the dishes since they are slick. Love it as a body sponge!

How do most people clean it?

Really no need to clean it since it doesn't hold onto dirt. You could run it through dishwasher.
