Item Package Quantity:2  |  Size:2 Pack This high quality gloss lacquer is specifically designed for wooden stringed instruments and allows for the special expansion and contraction that can occur due to the unique construction of these instruments. This lacquer must be applied in very thin coats over Behlen Vinyl Sealer in order to insure its special film building and finish characteristics.

Easy to work with, and better than most.
I say "most" because I haven't used every aerosol nitrocellulose lacquer, even though there aren't that many. For reference, I've only used the nitro available from Guitar ReRanch and Ohio Valley Nitro. These have both given me a bit of trouble with splatter and consistency from can to can. Nothing unbearable, but enough to cause me to keep looking. As a hobbyist builder and guitar refinisher, I don't have need of a pro spray rig, or a place to store one. Aerosol cans are a godsend for me, even if they require a bit more technique and patience. The Behlen lacquer seems to spray a thicker coat, which may drive you crazy if you're not the patient type, since it'll require a little more curing before sanding or applying build coats. I may be wrong in my logic, but it makes sense to me. This, of course, also means that your build coats will build faster, which I love. After going through 2 cans, I haven't noticed ANY splatter, and the coats themselves seem more gel-like, which may be the result of the thicker saturation of each coat. I can't speak for its durability, since my only experience with the Behlen has been in the last 2 weeks. For ease of use, though, and quality of the initial application, I think it's my go-to clearcoat until someone convinces me otherwise.

The best you can buy, just make sure you take the necessary steps
You have to be patient, but this is by far the best available-to-consumer aerosol lacquer for instruments. Everything goes better when you add time between applications, and soaking the cans in warm water for 15 minutes prior to spraying will help cut down on splatters. The lacquer gives off some particularly nasty fumes, so ventilation is a must.

Very nice stuff
Really nice stuff. Probably the only aerosol laquer out there that is legit. This is my second time using it without any problems. One thing however, I wish Behlen would give you the option to switch out the plastic valve on top to spray fanned instead of circular. That would be nice

Five Stars
Great spray, real lacquer, as used on older guitars.

Excellent finish!!!!!
I just used this on an old beat up Fender body. I still need to sand it down evenly, but the spraying procedure was very easy to do and I'm very pleased with the product and will most definitely use it again on my next project.

Nice product!
Love the finish that I get on the wooden flutes that I make. Easy to apply and dries quickly into a clear hard protective surface. Runs/drips are a concern but not a problem with thin layers and proper technique. For my purposes this product is much better than others that I have used.

This is great stuff. Makes me look like a pro
This is great stuff. Makes me look like a pro. Here's a tip: remove and clean the nozzle with WD-40 between uses. This is a nitrocellulose product; I've been informed scuff coat is not necessary, but I'd still hit it unless the previous coat is perfect.
