This (Zooka) is an excellent sound enhancing option as speakers go
I'm not big on writing products reviews do when I do, I am either truly impressed. This (Zooka) is an excellent sound enhancing option as speakers go. It's compact, easy to transport. Works exceptionally well when using 3.5 audio cable (reason I bought it for my iPad 2 and my elderly parent's android/Irulu tablet). I was sooooo impressed with its features: really blasts in sound power (improving the iPad audio system which sucks in sound volume). As well, it works great with the Irulu tablet, which has greater sound capacity than iPad, but, again not great either). This speaker's construction also holds any thin/slim equipment, has a good stand support and will not easily damage screens, etc enabling you to keep the speaker beside the tablet, laotop etc if not connected to the unit's frame. It even fits over some thin covers that we keep our tablets in. The silicon has a pleasant touch and the colors I have (pink, purple and grey) have depth/good pigments. After testing one to see if it would meet my needs (certain things I was looking for concerning my parent's ease of access and use and my own particulars, I bought 6 more to share with friends, family. Each person and their households have said the speakers are fantastic - and the sound generated can be heard in different areas within their houses. The battery charge is also exceptional - play time is approx 10 hrs plus...and lasts over several days when minimally used. Easy to sync with Bluetooth devices; charges well.I was delighted to find this product at such reasonable pricing ($12-$15), for the quality it provides. Having researched YouTube and the web concerning its utility and comments from other buyers I agree with the critical issue regarding this product - it does crackle/pop some when in Bluetooth mode and for that reason it isn't a good deal at its pricier offering, and there's just not enough 'stuff: bells and whistles' to pay more than $20 (sold initially for $89-99 when first introduced to market). As stated - when using a well made audio cable you get exceptional connectivity, clarity and sound (no popping/cracking). I bought a cheaper two-pack cable set and had to return it as soon as I plugged it into my iPad and Irulu units because it popped and crackled. I bought the Anchor's 3.5 cable - excellent construction, quality and is a superb cable also). So, if you are looking for utility, functionality, good sound quality from low to high registers, a real deal on pricing, options on connection to equipment, and nearly indestructible - than buy this first generation Zooka. If Carbon Audio comes out with a next generation I think this one will still be all I need. I have two for myself (1 is my back up, for trips, outings, when company visits). At present, there's no need for me to buy any more speakers (and I have 3 other brands that I tried and retired long before getting this Zooka!)

Pretty good bluetooth speaker/mic
I think the overall 4-star rating is pretty accurate. The good is that it sounds much better than any phone/tablet speakers, more than good enough for movies and Skype or phone use, not too bad for music, but obviously not going to fill a large room with amazing sound. Seems solid and the silicone should absorb lots of abuse and protect the electronics and speakers. Using it with as a phone, people have said the mic actually works well, so good for Skype or facetime or whatever. Links up with my iPad and Playbook just fine. Battery is pretty impressive and easy to charge with any standard micro usb charger. The bad, mostly minor. The speakers face away from each other and listener. Cup your hands around each and you can really hear the difference if you push the music towards you. The controls are a PITA to use when using the kickstand and you can't use the cord with the kickstand. The blue light is a tad to bright in a dark room. I wish the slot to put a tablet in was a touch wider or adjustable, hard to put anything in it with even the narrowest case attached. These are mostly annoyance defects, overall a pretty good product at a decent price. I don't regret buying it and would consider buying it again if I lost it.

Good Quality but consider the design first!
I got this speaker to use with my iPad due to the speakers going bad.Pros:-Great sound and sound quality-Good price-Build quality seems good-Easy to use-Fast syncing-Holds a good chargeCons:-It is heavy-It covers some of the screen on the iPad when pushed all the way down-It will press the sound buttons on the side of the iPad when all the way down messing up the connection- the sound comes out the sides. If you have it on your computer or tablet and you are in front of the screen it is placed on all the sound projects to the right/left of you.

Nice volume, easy to attach
Just bought this. Nice volume, easy to attach.. Instructions most difficult. But easy once you do this.1.Charge, will go from red to solid blue when charged.2. In your ipad, go to Systems settings. Turn on bluetooth.3. on Zooka, make sure blue is bright, then depress and hold tiny button on right of + sign. , hold about 3 sec, now it is on.4: pairing should be taking place on your ipad. . When you see ZOOKA, your done..5. Slide the Zooka either on the top or on the bottom with the metal rod to act as a "kick stand" . Nice for music or movie....or put it on time if you prefer it on your lap.or laying flat.6: turn up ipad sound , then adjust + or - on Zooka symbols on top of the unit, to regulate sound and BAM..your done. Happy listening. Grandma...

no good directions, doesn't pair with tablets well
Confusing, no good directions, doesn't pair with tablets well, weighs about as much as most tablets. I would not get this item, as convenient as it seemed, it's more work that it's worth.

this was a gift & the receiver loved the vibrant color
this was my 2nd purchase of the Zooka , this was a gift & the receiver loved the vibrant color, look & quality of the product. I myself purchased the purple and would agree that its great. I work in a very noisy place when all things are running, but to watch movies while working sound is great. I have used it also while working in the home for music & it has awesome sound quality. I did find that when the battery charge is wearing down you lose sound quality or seem to get static. while it is easy to connect via Bluetooth ,while playing music you have to have them in the same location as there are no buttons on the Zooka to control that only volume controls. even with that being said its great for the money .
