I use it every year. Will never go without it again
This is by far the best product I purchased to get rid of moles from digging in the yard. It does help with squirrels but that's not necessarily what I get it for. I love that it's a simple product being only castor oil and binding products, so there's not a lot of heavy chemicals. I have chickens in my yard and they free range. I'm not worried about them when I put this product down. It works really well if you use it as directed. That means you can't do your whole yard all at once because you'll just drive them crazy and they're going to run around nuts ripping up the whole place. Instead, you're supposed to start on one side. I generally recommend starting near concrete or pavement and pushing them back away from that area. You need to water it down into the lawn surface. Applications do not work. It has to seep down. Once you 've done 20-ft sections at a time and push them all the way back, you can just do a perimeter line a few feet wide to keep them from returning. I do this in the spring and fall works great

Using with Great Expectations
I am using this to try to protect the tulips I planted in October. I hope it works. It seems to work around the roses.

works well
I bought Molemax to repel moles from the plants we were putting in our perennial beds Application was easy: I used the granules and followed the instructions. It has a strong smell, but it fades quickly and doesn't bother us after a day or so. Results: It prevented the moles from eating any of our plants, and we have since ordered many bags, as Amazonem is the cheapest place to buy it. Pros: Easy to apply Safe for pets and kids Cons: Smell is strong at first Won’t kill moles — just drives them away (which may just be into your neighbor’s yard) Bottom line: If you’re looking for a non-lethal way to deal with moles and voles, Molemax is worth a try. Just follow the directions

Absolutely does not work (5 bags tried). Nope. No. Notta. Zilch.
Real life experience. Tried a bag, 3x. No go. It simply does not work. I spread it out according to the instructions. Watching ground hogs walk right through it in multiple areas via my cameras. I repeated the application until bag was empty- Groundhogs just walk right over it. They hesitate for a second then they are like, meh. They have a warranty, so went and got another bag at amazon after they confirmed a refund. Repeat the story, 3rd bag - and I still have groundhogs that don't give 2 bits about this product. Thank you for the warranty but I have sufficiently proven that this absolutely does not work for these groundhogs. Update: Like a dog returning to his vomit, I decided to try 2 more times. This definitely does not work for groundhogs. I put barrier fencing up with 17” spikes deep into the ground .. that stopped them. Thank goodness for returns and satisfaction guarantees.

Possibly somewhat effective when mixed into planting hole
I have been using this product for over a year, in an effort to reduce vole damage in my flower beds. In defense of this product, I can say that so far, when I've mixed this into a planting hole, the plant has not been completely destroyed. However, voles will happily tunnel all around the plant, inches from where this was mixed into the soil. After a year of adding this product to planting holes, putting it in tunnels, and scattering it on the top of the soil, it seemed to do nothing to get voles out of my flower beds. (I've recently found that repeatedly stomping their tunnels seems a lot more effective!)

Buh bye moles!
UPDATE: This product gave me a solid 2 months without moles! Yesterday I noticed a mole had returned. So, I will be applying another round of Molemax before it invites it’s friends. *** I’d been dealing with moles for a couple years and tried numerous ways to get rid of them before finding this product. Moles completely disappeared about a week after applying Molemax, and I haven’t seen any more activity in over a month! No more daily mole hills, and the grass has grown back. I’ll be buying this again for sure.

This and similar castor and essential oil products NOT working.
I spent around $100 on 4 bags. It did not work in spite of watching videos and reading about the best way and time to apply. To be fair, we have an alarming vole infestation. We had seen one and caught it in a trap. We were about to move out of our home at the time and make the property a rental. While moving, it went from 1 seen and caught with NO burrow holes/mounds... to HUNDREDS of voles with countless mounds and tunnels all over our property within a 4 week period. We had moved everything and had not been there for a few weeks. I went back to meet with the tenant 4 weeks after we caught the single vole. We have sandy soil in the mountains with a lot of wild grasses and wildflowers. We have gravel around the house/patio areas and even those areas were devastated in spite of the lack of plants growing there. After 2 applications of 2 bags, 1 week apart (on damp soil w some light rain between and after treatments we saw no improvement. We had used 20+ smoke bombs manufactured just for that purpose. He had also sprayed a liquid version of vole repellent last fall. My husband also attached a hose to the exhaust of his old plow truck and ran that into the tunnels to drive them away (a video he saw online gave him that idea). None of the efforts worked. Due to the devastation of our yard from the voles and danger of stepping in a hole and twisting an ankle or worse...we hired someone to regrade the sections of our yard that could be reached with a small grader and flatten it out. Away from the house, in a rocky area that cannot be graded due to enormous stones/pitch, etc. (mountains) countless voles were seen running out of the tunnels while the ground was being graded. Unfortunately, the only thing that is working for us is regrading and compacting the ground in any areas we can reach with heavy equipment on the property. We cannot reach all areas, so I'm certain this will be a continual, and costly process. We are not using poison since the wild animals such as fox, etc. eat voles and we don't want to poison wildlife or pets. If anyone has a good solution not listed above, please let me know! I am assuming that if you are reading this, you have voles. Good luck and try to catch them as early as possible because they reproduce quickly and in large numbers.

Pet friendly, light castor oil scent, Works well
I like this treatment. I am getting another one to have another treatment due to the amount of voles we have now living on the property.
