Cream of the crop!
How ironic, that I got to know billy mays through Youtube poops and then became a huge fan. This book deserves a six star if there is one. The narration is not very good in my opinion, Billy's father is no writer and that certainly shows in some paragraphs where ideas are cluttered and not very well organized. But emotion makes up for the lack of skill, and in this book I can truly see a father's deep affection for his son, from the littlest bit of detail like how he's afraid of dark to the larest coutour. It's sad to see Mays family crumble down, as Bob took the refuse empire his brothers has been building for thirty yrs and Deborah undermines Billy's promising life little by little. The insight this book gives out is incredible, with a sentimental touch that really gives us a sneak peak into billy's normal everyday life as a friend, father and son instead of that trademark boisterous pitchman figure.Billy Mays also has a life.

A welcome glimpse into the life of the real Billy Mays
As a longtime Billy Mays fan, I wanted to read this book primarily to see how Billy got his start as the greatest pitchman ever. What I got was a look into the life of an incredible human being, and the inner workings of the Mays family. The book does indeed show you Billy's start into the world of pitching (including some priceless anecdotes such as when he sold to the Amish), but to me the real treasure of the book is getting to see who Billy was outside of the pitching, and as a fan it really makes me appreciate him even more knowing all that he did outside of his work.

The Best Book I've Ever Read
To start, I am a HUGE fan of Billy Mays. And "My Son Billy" is, like I said, my favorite book of all time.It was written by Billy's father, so the reader gets an in depth look at Billy's life, ranging from childhood till his untimely death. The author gives facts, tells stories and interjects commentary at just the right times, while sticking to the point of each chronological chapter. The book itself is not too short nor too long in length, but it is truly delightful to read and I would recommend it to just about anyone (:Again, this is my favorite book of all time. Please do yourself a favor and read it!
