Our use is for camping, not commercial. We spend our weekends, three seasons, sleeping around camp fires. Today's lightweight outdoor nylons are amazing for all sorts of outdoor gear, but they are NOT fire friendly as they get holes from the sparks very easily. Wool historically is nice but it too eventually gets holes, and it is a dirt magnet. We were looking for a reasonably light weight fabric to layer over the wool blankets. The first thing we did when it arrived was riddled it with all types of sparks. We even took a variable temperature soldering iron to it. It performed just as stated. Does not flame up, just chars above its stated temperature rating. We are thrilled. Thank you.

Material does not fray at cut edges.
I use it to make parachutes for dual deployment model rockets

Poor Heat Resistance
Find a different fabric if you need it to stand up to sparks or flame. This fabric discolors immediately, puckers, becomes brittle and rips.Since heat resistance was my primary concern and it failed, we discarded this fabric. I cannot speak to any of its other performance characteristics.NOTE: "Nomex Aramid Kevlar" is a valuable search phrase for spark and flame resistant, durable fabric.Hope this helps others, thank you.

Slightly heavier in weight than expected.
The intent was something that could be interpreted as a large scarf, etc.Considering the weirdness that abounds -- I wanted fire protection for the head and face that did not look too tacticool . . . an EDC head-wrap to aid exiting in emergencies.

Definitely Fire Resistant
I bought this along with some fire resistant string to cut up various sized squares to use as a blast blanket inside my model rockets. this fabric so far has protected the parachute and lines from being charred/melted/burned from the black powder ejection charges. Its only exposed to flame and high pressure for a brief moment and i've only held it up to a lighter flame for about 5 seconds at a time, so for my purposes, it works 100% as advertised.
