ABI Socket Extender from E26 TO E26 - Extends 1.5 inches

Worked out fine and was able to put motion led bulbs in my candle bulb holder on my porch, sticks proud if you have concerns about that, but that is to be expected.

I used this extender for one of the lights i purchased on amazon and wanted to put large light bulb but would not fit. I got the results I was looking for with this extender and I'm very happy with my choice. It dropped the light bulb just right to work.

My non-adjustable and deep recessed lighting "cans" were made for incandescent bulbs, which I have replaced with LED BR40 bulbs. These extenders were ust the right length to allow them to stick out just right to allow the illumination they should. Previously I had tried a inline socket which was a bit too long. This one seemed about right after measuring the length I had. You can't see the extender in the picture of course. I screwed it firmly onto the bulb first and then the pair into the socket. As for sturdiness review, it's too soon to say, but it seems fine. The bulbs only use 18W instead of 100-120W like the incandescent flood light would have. I could have used a PAR style bulb if I wanted more of a spot effect, but that may have required a different extender. Obviously if the cans had an adjustable socket in the back, I wouldn't need these. This is a far easier and cheaper and quicker solution than replacing the recessed lights.

Item works as described, but I wouldn't use it with anything other than LED or CFL bulbs that generate very little heat. I was intending to use it in conjunction with a CFL in a Smith Victor Adapta-Light, but even with the advertised 1.5 inches of base extension it still did not allow the bulb to install into the light. Might be better for installing bulky CFL or LED bulbs into more common residential type fixtures that don't have really deep sockets.

I needed this extension so that my security camera would be low enough so that it would clear the light fixture. Works like a charm. Would buy again.

Bought these so I could install some LED bulbs in my recessed fixtures. Worked perfectly and exactly as expected. Quality looks good, expect no issues for the long term. Gave just the right amount of extension for the LED bulbs to come down to the level needed. UPDATE: September 2015 These have worked great in our recessed lights we have LED bulbs in. That said, while repainting the room recently, we put in some standard 65 incandescent bulbs so as not to worry about getting paint on the expensive LED bulbs. By the time the painting was done and went to put the LED bulbs back in, two of these socket extenders had melted! I still recommend them with LED bulbs since they don't get hot, but I can't recommend them at all for standard bulbs. I dropped the rating from 5 stars to 4 stars on this, but ONLY FOR LED BULBS. I'd give it a 1 star for regular bulbs.

Works well. NOTE: Since the extenders come in different sizes be sure to measure and order the correct length. Having the bulb extend outside the light fixture gives a little more light but be care how much bulb should be extended.

These are what I expected, a plastic socket extender. I placed the product into a garage door socket to fit a CFL lamp, which doesn't fit into the garage door opener socket. It works and save me aggravation. If I find an issue with this, I will definitely update this review so others will know. 6/30/2015 - Been using them 1-1/2 years with 18W and 23W CFLs and not one problem found. So far, they've been pretty reliable, especially considering one is in the garage (Chicago area).
