it is sturdy and well made, there are some, not many, of the splinters or fraying but they seem intact. Since it has a cloth insert for the bowl I don't see it being a problem. I can see some of the nails on the outside that holds the bowl together but they are not sticking out.The cloth bowl insert has seams that will show up on your final shaping, undesirable imo. The storage bag that came with it is very breathable, however feels quite weak and the bowl takes some work to get it in, very snug fit at first.

Christmas gift for my dad who is getting into making sourdough bread. We're excited for him to use this. Felt like great quality. Unnecessary "Bonus" drawstring bag doesn't fit the bowl.

Making bread
There should be a description of the lame and how easily you can cut your self. Ended up in the emergency room with a deep hand wound. Stickers and all. I was just removing it from the case.
