Works well, gives me peace of mind when been traveling
Very easy to assemble, sturdy and is a great size - my large travel bag fits in as is. Heats up relatively quickly and throughout unit but does get very hot so I check on the temp periodically. Mine typically gets to 145/150 - I checked the temp with 2 independent thermometers and it reads pretty true. Photo is when taken out of the bag and gone to room temp - can see the max temp at 151 and when I checked with my 2 thermometers during the heating cycle, they concurred. The temp probe screen goes blank when hot tho in the unit so can only see the max temp reached when out of the bag and cooled so I also include my 2 independent thermometers in the unit when using so I know temp in real time. Great to have this to use when returning from trips. I tried out with handbags, shoes and belts as well as clothes, cushions, bedding etc - all were fine. I accidentally kept my small flashlight in the bag tho and it became misshapen and no longer works. I since bought a second one so we can heat treat travel bags/accessories for 2 people concurrently.

I am impressed.
I live in a multi-unit high rise building in Ontario, Canada, and I bought the ThermalStrike Ranger in March 2021. In 2017 the person in the unit next to me brought home bed bugs. She told no-one and did nothing about them, and they spread out and infested everyone on the floor. In Ontario landlords are responsible for pest control, and my landlord did his best but without her co-operation, the bed bugs kept coming back. The provincial Public Health doesn't consider bed bugs to be a health hazard, so there was no help from there. I had bought a larger heating unit from another company. It killed bed bugs but it heated up the apartment to 97ยฐF during the heat wave. Since I was baking things non-stop for two weeks, that was extremely stressful. Then I saw the ThermalStrike Ranger. The bed bugs had come in wave after wave from 2017 to 2021. I had run out of belongings and health. I was also stressed from the heat the other bed bug device caused. So I spent some of my remaining savings on the Ranger. I seem to have bad luck with appliances. I had been running the Ranger day and night when I noticed a problem. I emailed ThermalStrike and Mike wrote back. He explained what he thought was going on. We talked back and forth a bit and he demonstrated his superb customer service skills, and made it right. Then another facet of the system (not the heat box) went funky, and Mike made that right too. It's been plain sailing since. Since March I have used the Ranger nearly every day to kill off bed bugs (the bed bug loving neighbour finally moved out), then fleas, and now I'm heating my dry goods to combat weevils. The Ranger is extremely convenient to use, reaches the desired temperatures, and doesn't heat up the apartment. That takes a big load off my mind. I like that the thermometer uses a wired probe. There's no disconnection between the thermometer and the display as can happen with a wireless thermometer. There is a tiny gap in the zippered top to allow the wire through, but nothing has ever crawled out that gap. In the early days I was concerned about that so I filled the gap with Mortite caulk; it wasn't necessary. For hotter days when I have both the A/C and a fan going, I've found it helpful to place the Ranger in a large plastic bag to keep the breeze from the fan from cooling down the unitโs exterior. I don't recommend closing it at the top as water vapor will escape from whatever you're heating, and condense if it can't escape. The Ranger doesn't use too much electricity, unlike the behemoth I was using before (and occasionally still use for larger items), so it doesn't trip the breaker to have both the A/C and the Ranger going at the same time. What a relief! The only improvement I would suggest to Mike is regarding the Velcro straps that hold the pegs inside the corner sleeves. They're a tad too short. I tried stretching the sides of the Ranger to accommodate the length of the pegs, but it didn't work. The pegs are a little too long for the Velcro straps. I think an additional ยฝโ of hook-strap would suffice. To be honest, after several months of using the Ranger, the sides seem to have softened up enough that now I can stretch them up enough to make the hooks catch properly, but for awhile that wasn't the case. All in all, having the Ranger has made my life in a multi-residential building, with other people's bugs, a lot less stressful. Mike gives the Ranger a two-year warranty; he has stood by his product and has provided some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. Thank-you, Mike.

Amazing product
Iโm obsessed with this product. This gives me so much peace of mind when traveling. I just come home and pop my suitcase in here for a few hours. I feel at peace knowing I can bring my stuff in without exposing my home to bed bugs. This heatโs just like the label says it will. I have also used this product to remelt the glue on book bindings which I know itโs not intended for but works amazing. I likely will be purchasing more of these in the future!

Easy to use, effective against bed bugs and other pests, and Great Customer Service!
I ordered the ThermalStrike Ranger on 2/2/25, received it on 2/5/25, and upon returning from a trip used it for the first time on 2/19/25. It was easy to set up and use, and the manual is clear and concise. I bought the unit because I was originally concerned about bed bugs (we travel frequently) but it turns out the ThermalStrike unit is also effective against almost all other pests, e.g. carpet beetles, carpet beetle larvae, and carpet beetle eggs. Curious about how to best use the unit, I called ThermalStrike customer service and spoke to Mike, who as it turned out, started the company. To say it was a pleasure speaking with him is an understatement! He took a lot of time explaining the science behind the unit and how/why it works. Long story short, it is effective against almost all pests and their eggs. I cannot say enough positive things about ThermalStrike's customer service and owner Mike Lindsey. He will take extra time to talk with you about your problem, explain what needs to be done, and will do so in a friendly and professional manner; in short, I remain grateful for the assistance. This product is easy to use: read the brief manual, then quick assembly (a couple of minutes), plug and play after that. One plug, no need to plug into two different outlets on different breakers like one of the (well reviewed) competitors. Thermal Strike is much simpler to use in my opinion. According to Mr. Lindsey, the ThermalStrike unit can stretch/contort around a 29 inch suitcase, but I have not tried this yet. Smaller bags (carry-on size luggage, handbags) go in the unit without any difficulties at all. Mike explained to me that various electronics companies have certified that their products are safe up to 140 degrees, so it's OK to put your electronics in the unit - just monitor the unit and when temperature reaches 140 you can be confident that the inside of the laptop got to the magic number of 120 degrees (which kills just about anything in a short period of time), and you can (and should) stop the unit so it doesn't overheat electronics beyond their recommended max of 140 degrees. If you have questions, call customer service and ask for Mike, I'm sure you will have the same courteous and informative discussion that I had. He was generous with his time and even explained why and under what circumstances he founded the company. Very Highly Recommended! So much so, that I bought a second unit for my daughter-in-law's home. You won't be disappointed, and the peace of mind is valuable in and of itself.

If youโre looking, buy this now!
Whether you are dealing with bed bugs or want to make sure you never do, this is essential. I roast luggage every time I return from a trip. It takes about 1 minute to setup and I leave it on for 8 hours to ensure it penetrates deep into the suitcase (be sure to remove meltable toiletries!). Honestly, I love not unpacking immediately anyways. I can hold two carryons tightly, and I put any other luggage in a trash bag and roast it later. It rolls up to be fairly small and fit in the back of a closet. Bites can show up many days later, so it is especially important for short trips where you might not experience the bites until days after youโve returned and unpacked your luggage. If youโre dealing with bed bugs, it is especially helpful to ensure you kill anything living in luggage, books, and other household items which would otherwise be impossible to manage. It can prevent you from throwing away household items, especially luggage during a moment of desperation- saving you hundreds or thousands of dollars. It also helped with clean linens which you donโt want to wash/dry when it isnโt necessary. Most important is the piece of mind. Once youโve eliminated them, I promise you will want to use this every time you travel. TIPS: Just about anything can go in here except something that would melt (ie cosmetics, art supplies). โขPlastic trash bags wonโt melt. โขMetal will conduct heat and get much hotter than 120-150F. It may melt something at these higher temperatures like nearby plastics, leather, etc. โขMost electronics are safe- though it did damage a very old iPad. My laptop and surround sound system survived. โขYou do not need to leave extra space on the inside, just space around it as the device itself gets hot- but the outside would not hurt anyone. โขIt causes a slight odor to items, but that generally resolves in a few days. It seems like the odor has gotten a little worse over time, but itโs still very mild. โขI accidentally put shoes through once or twice without an issue, but would be hesitant to put nice shoes through โขIf youโre thinking about it, just buy it!

Quality Control (2 of 3 Bought w/ Issues); Works Great if No QC Issues
This is a nice product in concept, when compared to navy of the other similar options which use fan blowers as part of their solution. When it works as intended, it works great. We've used it as part of my company's pest control remediation efforts. We've reached and tested temperatures exceeding 120 degrees inside for the items within. However, the product has quality control (QC) issues in 2 of the 3 that I've used (stitching failure where the supporting rods fit in, and with another unit the temperature controller unit failed on initial use flashing wildly persistently and the timing function didn't not auto shutoff at the designated # of hours - note that a properly functioning unit the light on the controller does not wildly flash). We returned the last 2 to Amazon. I'm torn in buying a 4th,but we're willing to give it a chance once more. As I prior noted, when the product is fully functioning as intended with no QC related issues, it works great.

This product is truly the best on the market
**Pro Tip for the Zipper** I canโt say enough good things about the Thermal Strike Heated Hamper. This is **hands down the safest and best heat-treatment hamper on the market**โthe build quality, reliability, and performance are unbeatable. On top of that, the owner, **Mike Lindsey**, is truly exceptional. He has gone above and beyond for me multiple times. Even *past the warranty*, he sent me **two extra timer switch mechanisms** at no charge. He also provided **replacement heat-temperature probes twice**, completely free of cost. Customer service like that is almost unheard of. **Pro Tip for the Zipper** Some reviewers have mentioned that the large plastic zipper can snag on the fabric. I experienced this too, but it was an easy fix. I bought a can of **silicone lubricant** (NOT regular WD-40 or petroleum-based lubricants). Silicone lubricant is safe for plastics and vinyl, leaves a dry film, and can handle temperatures up to **400ยฐF**โfar higher than anything this hamper reaches. After spraying a light coat along the zipper teeth, the zipper glides perfectly now. This product is incredibly well-designed, safe, and backed by an owner who truly stands behind what he sells. I will absolutely be recommending the Thermal Strike Heated Hamper to my neighbors in my building, to local pest control professionals, and to anyone who needs a dependable and safe heat-treatment solution. Highly recommended!

Fantastic, every one should buy one
The seller/company behind this heater are great, honest people. They are very kind and professional, they reduced the CAD price after I purchased it and then refunded me back the difference. The bag gave me a lot of reassurance after a long battle with the tiny things that we shall not name. I used it several days in a row, heat treating all of my belongings in batches. The bag did a stand up job and got everything to the temperature I needed it. It is very simple to use and very simple to pack up after. Nothing was damaged. I recently used it to heat treat a cat scratching post I ordered online as a preventative measure. I just set up the bag and threw the scratching post inside, turned it on for a couple hours and then it was taken care of and my worry was gone. I don't think it should be your front line defence if you're dealing with a problem, but it's a complimentary addition to other treatments and a great preventative measure if you travel a lot or order a lot of stuff online.

Clever and effective
Bought after a bed bug scare from a nasty holiday rental. It definitely kills all kinds of creepy crawlies from flies to beetles, the evidence is right there in the tray at the bottom of the bag. Couple of things to note: 1) the black plastic control unit gets VERY hot during operation which may or may not be normal! 2) the poles are difficult to place/remove and at least one does not fully fit, it's at the end of the bag but sticks out the top and no amount of wrangling makes it fit. Am super happy to have purchased this device though. Gives peace of mind and would recommend to anyone who travels or shares accommodation with someone who does. I run it on 8 hour cycles but check it periodically and the temperature consistently reaches or exceeds 145 degrees. If you've been unfortunate enough to bring home bugs and are washing bedding every day to eradicate, this is a possible alternative.
