I'm sure it would be fine for cat6 cable, but they don't grip the cable therefore provide no "strain relief"

Great for all cables, but especially thicker cables.
These were very easy to work with. They have a large enough opening that I could even use them with my thick direct-burial Cat6a cable, although just barely. On the flip side, they were pretty loose on some of my older fairly thin Cat5 cables. They fit very nicely onto all of the various Ethernet connector ends that my cables used.
