Are there any levels on the product (or mounting plate) to ensure a level line when using on walls? Or do I have to set a level on the laser line?

Thank you for your question. The Bosch GTL3 comes with a leveling plate to allow positioning of the measuring tool flat on an uneven or unstable floor. The plate can also be used as a wall bracket for the measuring tool and use a level to fix the leveling plate flat on the surface. If you have further questions please feel free to contact our Bosch Customer Service Representatives at 1-877-BOSCH-99 (1-877-267-2499).

whats the distance the lazer runs?

Thank you for your question. The GTL3 Tile Laser range starts at 6" up to 65ft. For further assistance, contact us at 1-877-BOSCH99 (1-877-267-2499) from M-F 7a-7p CST.

Has anyone tried using this to install hardwood flooring? Can it draw a line half inch away from the wall?

It can project a line approx. 3/4" from and parallel to the wall. However, the 45 & 90 deg. lines will be aimed at the wall. Therefore, it will only be useful to project a straight line, not using the squaring function.
