Does this kit have all parts necessary to do the install? IE--wire splices, instructions, and templates for the cutout, etc?

Hello, The latest versions do not include splices. Instructions and template is included. Thank you.

Does it work with liftmaster 8500

I have this unit installed in my ‘18 Chevy Volt and it runs my new model Chamberlain opener.

Will this wire up to the 12 volt power supply or is this battery operated?

It uses the Carr’s 12 volt power, does not have its own internal battery. You connect it to a constant 12 volt line in your car’s factory wiring.
