I prefer HK hooded flip up sights that aren't spring loaded, but lock in the up position. Front sights that manually flip up are ambidextrous and easy to flip up with either thumb. The hybrid feature is sort of the best of both worlds. It will work with standard round rear peep sights, and if you decide to change to the Diamondhead rear sight with diamond aperture it will work with that too. This sight is very rugged, probably more so than the diamond shaped one as there's more metal in the ears at the point where it angles in. If you're considering flip up back up iron sights don't overlook Diamondhead. I put a couple drops of teflon Brain Lube (or Master Lock PTFE Lock Lubricant https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-Lubricant-Biodegradable-2300D/dp/B004FV4TNE) and the sight deploys and closes very smooth.
