This is a great and easy tool to sharpen skates during practice or games. We’ve used them to keep sharp between sharpening appointments, and it’s for sure been helpful on the life of the blades

Our local rink sharpens skates for only $5, so that isn't a big deal, money wise, but I wanted something to help keep that just sharpened feeling a little longer. These do not replace a quality sharpening but make that edge last a lot longer and keep them biting well. Two quick drags along the blade are all I need to feel the ceramic sharpeners hone the edges back to where they should be. It doesn't wear the blade down, as it is basically straightening the outside edge and making it line up the way it should. It probably takes a tiny amount of metal off as you "sharpen" but so does skating on ice. This is part of my routine after skating now, so they will be ready the next time and know that I will be gliding easy around the corners or have plenty of power. I would buy these again. Follow up: On my second season of skating and still using this on my skates, which has kept them in great shape and I haven't need to sharpen them yet. I skate at least twice a week and it keeps the blade in good shape.

Très efficace ! La première fois j’ai même trop affûté ! 2 ou 3 passages sur les lames suffisent. Cela permet de prolonger l’ affûtage professionnel ou de le remplacer occasionnellement si on ne trouve pas de service affûtage quand on en a besoin. Bien sûr, l’affûtage professionnel reste la base, ce qui d’ailleurs rendra ce petit affûteur encore plus efficace.

This skate sharpener does not fit all skates. When you return it you have to pay for the return yourself and the cost is almost as high as the item itself

With no nearby access to anyone that can professionally sharpen skates, this does the trick to last me through the month where we have a seasonal rink for christmas. After which i sent my skates away for professional sharpening. It does not replace a professional sharpen but it definitely gives you that edge back for a good skate.

I liked this re edger sharpener. I used it for hockey skates and figure skates. I’m way up north in a remote fly in community and we don’t have sharpeners around here. So I ordered this bad boy based on reviews. And I I sharpened many of my nieces and nephews full skates with this re-edger. My niece said she can skate faster now lol. Yes this is a good product! I watched a video about this online on YouTube and that made me choose to order it. The YouTuber I watched showed me how to sharpen it and with the flat stone thingy, and he said not to go over 5x down the blade lol he said you’ll chip the ice. So I’d recommend this to anybody!
