My grandmother, who I care for, has difficulty swallowing tablets. Her doctor is also unfortunately unable to source some of the medication she needs in liquid form, so she was told that he'd continue to prescribe tablets, but that she'd need to buy a pill grinder, and eat the resulting powder with food. Therefore, since she is unable to use Amazon herself, I ordered this for her. So far, it has been brilliant, if a little expensive for what it is. It grinds all of her tablets into a fine powder, which I then mix with a yoghurt, which she is then able to eat. It can even manage to grind all of her pills at once, although this takes some force! (so I do it for her) So, we can both confidently rate this pill grinder 10/10! It has improved her quality of life drastically, as she no longer has to choke down, and possibly bring up again, 9 different pills and capsules. Instead, she just eats her normal breakfast yoghurt, but with the pill powder mixed in! *IMPORTANT NOTE!* Capsules CANNOT be ground up, as these are time released, according to her doctor, while (most) pills are not. (Her doctor has made sure all her time-released medicine is in capsules, for this reason) Instead, I open the capsules, and mix their powder/granule contents into the powder produced by this grinder, then mix it into the yoghurt, which works perfectly! Overall, the grinder is strongly constructed out of stainless steel, with a plastic lining for hygiene. The powder container is a strong, clear plastic, which is attached to the grinder body with a twist-lock. It can be completely disassembled for cleaning, which is great, plus you can adjust how fine the resulting powder is with a knob, easily accessible beneath the grinding mechanism. We both rate this pill grinder highly!

I dont like to swallow tablets so bought this pill crusher it's good and sturdy. I give it 4 stars as some of the crushing parts are plastic and which I thought the whole device was metal

Fantastic product. A bit fiddley at first,once it loosened up was better. Takes lots of pills at once. Much better than standard pill crusher!

The grinding handle was loose from the start, and even minute solid tablets became jammed. As for larger tablets virtually nothing happened as they would not pass into the grinder. I suggest you purchase a stainless steel pestle and mortar instead which works a treat.

I have to grind a lot of pills every day for my horse. I have been through so many small plastic grinders and none of them take multiple pills. Set it to its finest setting and the resulting powder dissolves in water ready to syringe. I am grinding 10 to 15 very hard tablets at a time and it's so easy. Highly recommend.

I so wanted to love this grinder, as right from when it arrived, could see it's a very well thought out and made item. Just holding it in your hand you can feel the quality, from the weight, to the brushed metal. I love how the all metal handle folds out to give the extra reach for rotating it. The bottom part, although not glass, is made of good quality and thick plastic - certainly won't break easily. If first impressions matter, this grinder certainly feels the business - both the top part where the pills go in, and the lower part to catch the output, lock together very easily and precisely. However, I bought this grinder to help with two new pills I've recently had added to my roster of meds. I have trouble swallowing anything of size due to an overly sensitive gag reflex. The larger, white pill (see photo) is apparently made of concrete. Although it has a break line down the middle of it, it's impossible to snap in your hand - only smacking the thing with a thick metal blade and something weighty seems to work. I seem to be in danger of breaking a back tooth with it very soon if I try to crunch. it. The second slightly smaller (but still over-sized) pill is almost as hard, but annoyingly turns to a chewy mess and sticks to your teeth very swiftly. The grinder was therefore bought to help break these two down. Unfortunately, the size of the chamber inside the grinder, even when set to the coarsest/widest setting, is too narrow to trap either of the tablets and draw them into the actual grinding blades. All that happens is you spin the handle around and no matter which direction, or how you tilt or shake the thing, the tablets just shrug it off and remain whole. I tried putting a standard sized but smaller vitamin pill in with the two and what happened is when the vitamin tablet caught and started to grind, the dark coloured tablet got trapped behind it and actually had part of it ground too. As soon as the first disintegrated though, the remains of the larger pill just escaped and continued to skitter around as before (see the end result in my photo). This grinder is very well made and will be perfect for grinding down small to medium pills with ease. Unfortunately it's completely unable to cope with larger sized tablets, so much as I'd lover to recommend this product, I can't. Would be a single star for failing to do what I need it to, but redeems itself to two stars because it is so well made.

Not sure whether we got a defective item or what but used for a babies pills only to find what seems to be (see photos) bits of plastic casing inside the bit where the grinding is carried out, these made there way into the pill residue making the whole thing unusable. Look closely and you can clearly see the plastic bits.
