The Only Options Trading Book You'll Ever Need (Second Edition) (Option Books by Russell Stultz) Paperback – January 17, 2018

New to trading options, I bought the first edition and found it to be an outstanding educational learning experience. Now, the second has even more 'sage' advice, one cannot do without this excellent edition. If you want to have a 'mentor' available 24/7, this is the book for you. A talented and experienced author and guide into the shark infested waters of option trading is invaluable. All the techniques are laid out for beginners and advanced option traders to follow - with excellent explanations on how to leverage each technique. While the first edition title said 'the only' one you'll ever need, this is beyond that. Get this book!

Bf loves it

I was really torn between 3 and 4 stars for this book. To begin with the title, depending on how you learn it may indeed be the only book you need to understand and become a strong option trader. Conceptually this book does a great job of explaining all the key elements of options and how they assemble into winning strategies. But there are 2 significant drawbacks. First, the quality of the graphics is very low. There are many actual screen shots of brokerage option chains that are originally in color but the conversion to Black and White leaves them very blured and difficult to read. The second problem is very poor editing of a second edition. Half the numbers and text of examples probably refer to screen shots from edition one which have been updated. Literally every page or two throughout chapter 14. People struggling with some of the concepts may be so confused by some of the statements and numbers they may simply give up. Some technical books I have read have websites to cover and correct mistakes in print but I could not find anything of the sort for this book. But even if there was one this book is so littered with mistakes and confusion I would tire of constantly going to look up the correct information. Usually by paying attention and looking closer I figure out what it should say and move on. Maybe everyone else will be able to do the same. In the end though, I am learning a lot from this book and I am glad I have it.

I started trading commodities and stocks in the 80"s and options in the 90"s. This book is amazing in that it is a great book for beginners as well as experienced traders. The author has managed to cover options in a manner unlike any book I have seen. It covers a wide spectrum of option trading in a level of detail that makes it an excellent resource for everyone. I highly recommend it. If you are an experienced trader you will value this book as a reference book. The beginner will want to read and reread this book many times. It truly is the only options book you will need to effectively trade options.

The book is helpful and discusses a huge range of option information. However the graphics are horrible. This edition came out in 2019 and the graphics look like they are from the 1980’s. I do recommend due to the vast amount of information but don’t get it for the example charts.

I have found this book to be the most comprehensive guide to option trading that I have ever come across. While many option trading books are academic in their approach, Mr. Stultz is a seasoned and successful option trader himself. He therefore is able to give a real world perspectives and specific examples on the various strategies presented in this impressive book. I can't imagine anyone, beginner or seasoned trader, who would not benefit immensely from this book. Highly recommended.LBDallas, Texas

This book include good information for beginners but lacks full informational impact by illustration errors. In many illustrations concerning how to activate a trade, the strike price and premium listed in the instructions is not represented in the illustrated chart.Example: instructions references a long call premium of $6.63 at 202 Strike price. Illustration list strike price range from 266-276.Other such errors are scattered through this book which indicates it was not well organized and pieced together. Could have been much better with more planning and execution.

This is the most useful and usable book I own on Options Trading. I purchased several to give as gifts to my close friends. This book is like a step-by-step how-to manual and reference guide for trading options. If you only own one book on options trading, this is the one you should have! I keep it on my desk for reference when I am trading.

Covers all concepts of Options Trading. But the way it was written was confusing. Often I have to google Investopedia or other sites for simpler explanations.
