True and inexpensive 1080P projector
I was looking for a small 1080P projector to use for presentations as I know the better resolution allows text to be viewed more clearly and I didn’t want to break the bank. I noticed AAXA’s line-up of projectors and gave them a call so they could assist me in choosing a projector that would work best for me and they recommended the P7 for me, as it was just within my budget. Once I received the projector, I was surprised by the portability of the size and the various connectivity options. Connected my laptop and noticed this projector is a true 1080P projector, unlike other brands (that I tried and returned) that market “up to 1080P” and it simply scales. Also tried plugging in a USB with various media to test out the built in media player and quickly realized that the remote must be pointed to the back of the projector as that is where the remote control receiver is located. Not an issue for me, but something I think other people should be aware of. There a some parts of the case I wish AAXA would improve, like the chrome bezel and I wish it felt a bit sturdier BUT overall, the projector performance is great, customer service was also great (and it’s also great to take a live person in the USA if you need support assistance) and the 1-year warranty also helps me have peace of mind as well.

Excellent artist projector
We ordered another, larger, projector that had greater lumens, and was quieter, but it was too large for my purpose, and the throw was too long. We returned it, and ordered this one. Yesterday's test, all things considered, went very well. While it could be brighter, smaller, and much quieter, it will fulfill my requirements perfectly. Requirements: *Short throw *Small image size *Able to project from Photoshop *Sharp image Pros: *Short throw. This projector can project a 16" image. you need a 30" distance to produce a 30" (diagonal) image. This is perfect for me and the size of paper I usually paint on. *Sharp image - This projector, at a 30" image, 100% resoloution of a 7" tall image in Photoshop produced a picture clear enough to read headlines on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper in a shop window. The text was probably 30 pts. *Plenty visible in an only slightly darkened room, venetian blinds closed on one window (the room I paint in is pretty bright). Cons: *Fan is loud as all get out. I have a seven year old aaxa that is also darn loud, so I was prepared for the noise. Still, a little quieter would be a heck of a lot nicer. I can't image how one would use this thing to watch movies, or talk over during a presentation. *No case, and a matching one is not available. I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JWAYVY4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I had to bend the flap, but otherwise it fits well with all the cords. It does stink to high heaven, so it's currently outside airing out. *** SIZE!!! The hand in the photo must belong to a man 8 feet tall. At 5" long, it fills my entire palm. The photo is completely misleading. Fortunately, it's not a deal breaker. *Price. Well I had to grit my teeth before pressing the buy button. But after a great deal of research, this one looked like my best bet. I guess I'll be painting with what I have on hand for a while. I wrote this review because there just aren't a lot of projector reviews for artists. Projecting is considered shameful, even though the masters used a camera lucida. But the opinions of others is not my problem All in all, I am happy. If anything changes, I will update this review.

Great for a Small Planetarium
I purchased this projector primarily for use in a small planetarium (13 feet across), and it hasn't disappointed thus far. It has the resolution and brightness, as well as just enough contrast, to work fairly well in a planetarium context, and the minimum diagonal it can project (from my experience, around 10 inches) opens the door for several spherical mirror options. I attempted to show some example images that this projector can produce, but they really don't do it justice; they're really more of a proof of concept. The images are distorted not because of the projector, but because of the use of a spherical mirror to project against a dome interior. The blurriness and ghost images are similarly not due to the projector, but are a consequence of using a less than stellar second-surface spherical mirror. I'll use a first-surface spherical mirror with this projector eventually, but since such mirrors are specialty items (on order from New Zealand), it'll be a while before I can expect performance in a planetarium, in line with what this projector demonstrates on flat surfaces. Speaking of first-surface mirrors, being delicate, specialty items that are shipped halfway across the globe means that they are -- very -- expensive, especially as larger sizes are required. This is where the minimum 10 inch diagonal is very handy: since the P7 can project such a small image (and yes, it can project huge images too, but that's not relevant on this point), that means that it's possible to use with the smallest -- and therefore, least expensive -- first-surface spherical mirrors produced. That makes a pretty big difference... the P7 projector, though certainly not cheap, is not the most expensive component in the planetarium, when those first-surface mirrors are considered.

Limited video codec support (for files on USB) and Bluetooth audio issues
Pros: Picture was great (bright and clear). Cons: The software has limited video format support for onboard video player (i.e. via USB): Specifications state that .OGG and .AVI are the only supported formats (this means I need to convert anything that I wish to play as I do not use those formats). That said, I converted a movie to the .AVI file format and placed it on a USB stick. The file was shown in the projector USB interface. However, when I tried to select it, the screen displayed “Loading…” but after several seconds a message was displayed that the file format was not supported so I still could not play the AVI file. Note that the VLC application plays this same 720p file perfectly fine on a PC (i.e. there is nothing wrong with the file). Bluetooth is installed out of the box on the unit I received which was great (no firmware update required; version BH23_V2.2201103). However, I have 2 issues 1) there is a pulsating hum emitted in the audio - I experienced this on 2 different Bluetooth devices (Bluetooth speakers and a Bluetooth headset) while using 2 different HDMI devices (a FireTV Stick via HDMI input and an H96 Pro streaming box via HDMI input). 2) Applications running on the HDMI devices had audio-out-of-sync issues: Tried several applications and some seemed worse than others (Hulu, Plex, HDHomerun, Kodi) Could not test BT audio sync issue on USB device because I could not get a video file to play from a USB device. The fan is a bit loud but not terribly annoying. Sent support email to AAXA with above information asking if there is a software update or if they think I received a defective unit. Only received an automated response (it has been 6 full days). Conclusion: Returning as I expect more at this price point. It does not meet my needs or expectations. If you will use audio connected by wire, you may be fine with this. The audio out of the onboard speaker is OK but not for immersive TV or movies. Also, I wanted to be able to use this outside with video files on USB stick but had no luck with file formats/codecs. Update 1-29-22: AAXA support contacted me and seemed very willing to work through any issues I was having and apologized for the delayed response. Unfortunately I had already returned the product.

I would love to give this 5 stars but ....
The projector itself is beautiful and works like a charm. We couldn't be happier with the picture quality. However, the camera arrived missing the battery, and several attempts to contact the company have failed and we have yet to receive the promised battery, which was supposed to be included. Additionally, the tripod that came with the camera is made of cheap plastic, and broke before we could even get the projector up and running the very first time! The company, to it's credit, did give us a $20 credit to buy a new tripod, but we don't want to buy one until we find out if the company is ever going to send us the battery that was supposed to come with the camera! IF we receive the battery, I will update this review. However, we won't be buying a new tripod until we know whether or not we have to return this camera because of the missing battery.

Not the cheapest, but the cheapaer ones are just should not be.
After trying several under $200 projectors and being greatly disappointed with the performance of these, I have went for this one, AAXA P7 Mini Projector. And I immediately decided that I will keep this one. The size is pretty small. The picture where it sits on a hand, is probably of a hand of the 7' tall basketball player. That said, the projector still pretty small (trust not the picture, but the dimensions mentioned). The picture quality is pretty good and worth the $349. It is as sharp edge to edge as it can be. Note that this is a projector, and the picture will not be as sharp as on an LCD monitor, this applies to any projector even if it is several thousands of dollars (I am working in Pro AV and have installed anything from $1000 to $30000+). So the sharpness or focus-ability of the image is quite good. It is important to note that the optimal focus is attained when NOT using the keystone feature. So do all you can to use as little keystone as possible, better not at all. If you use keystone, the image will get blurrier near the top or bottom or both. Also do not just project on a wall, use a projection screen. Even a cheap screen is already better than a textured wall. The noise of the projector is pretty loud, but it has to be in a projector that small that uses the LED lights. If you want a quieter projector try laser ones, but that will be a much larger package and a much more expensive one. For a portable LED projector, this is not bad. Of course, if you use the "Bright" mode, the fan will be noisier than even I find acceptable. On a "normal" setting the noise is just about bearable. I had to tweak the color temperature setting and the image settings to get the wanted hue, out of the box it was a bit into the blue for me, but this is subjective. Sound quality of the audio in the projector is what you'd expect from the size maybe even better. It is certainly louder than I expected... But keep in mind, these are 1" or so speakers in there, expecting HiFi is pretty ridiculous, but the audio as good as from a majority of inexpensive blue-tooth speakers of that size. The brightness of the image on "normal" is on par with any of the $99 projectors maybe a bit brighter, but the image uniformity, color, and sharpness are better beyond comparing. The $99 even $199 projectors are complete garbage comparing to this one. Basically anything with mechanical keystone adjustment is a garbage... I have tried several. Also note that this one is DLP which has more chance to produce a good quality image than LCD with a random light source such as found in these projectors and DLP costs extra. The tripod is a throw in, but it is adequate to be used with a small camera or your smart phone (bracket needed). For the projector, it is quite dreadful. Remote control is meh... All in all, this is the same kind of package that you'd get for $99 from elsewhere at Amazon in a plethora of cheap projectors, but this one actually produces a picture that is fairly crisp and has a good color. I guess it is fair to pay $250 extra for the DLP picture quality and native 1920x1080 resolution. Oh yeah, this also has a battery that lasts about 2 hours on normal brightness. Not that I use this feature, but it is kind of cool to take it camping and have a movie night (note that you will need a power inverter to power this up or at least charge for a next night movie). $349 is quite a bit of money, but you want that 1080p resolution for games and even movies and you get the DLP. And it is pretty small. I think it is priced just about right. If this was $399, I would have not bought it. But if it was $299, I would have called it a steal.

Fantastic budget-minded 1080p projector
This is one incredible projector that not only displays in 1080p but actually focuses well, unlike some other budget projectors, one of which was a $250 model I tried this week. I am very impressed with the picture and think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better portable 1080p projector than AAXA's P7 model. I needed a projector that could produce a good-size image on screen with little throw distance as well as be operational while pointed at the ceiling for video watching while doing a special posture exercise. This projector ticks all these boxes and well. I owned a 720p InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 projector that retailed for more than $1,500 in 2005. AAXA's P7 projector may not handle color quite as well as that old projector (I'd need more time to play with settings to know for sure), but I wouldn't expect it to for the size and price. If you're looking for a projector for weekly movie nights and/or use outside for gatherings or business presentations, this projector might be just the ticket for you! If you're looking for a top-tier-performing projector for half a grand, your expectations are sky high to the point of being unrealistic. I believe this projector's going to sell well once word gets out about its strong performance at such an affordable price. I'm psyched I got it! Enjoy! :)

Great but not perfect.
Pros for this pico 1080p projector 1) very bright for its size. I can use it in daylight with the blinds about 50% open at the full 120 inches. I can safely get 65 inches in full daylight with lights on with washout on the dark spots, but that is because there can’t be dark spots on a whole wall in a lot room. 2) the image is surprisingly clear. I’ve had a dozen of these little projectors many were 720 or 800p and we’re decent, this bad boy throws a clear crisp image on nearly any surface. 3) it’s tiny, this is both a pro and con. The pro is you can keep it anywhere 4) price is great for a 1080p 450 lumen projector. It’s 600 on wall power, the 450 is more than adequate for indoor use. Cons 1) fan is wildly loud all the time. When in bright mode it’s unbearable. 2) speaker or driver for sound is complete garbage. The reason I’m sending mine back is for this reason alone. Sure I can use an extra external speaker but that defeats the purpose. 3) size, it’s too small for many places to be stable. Where something with a wider footprint would help it be stable. As well they had to cram all the ports together, so if you use a fire stick, chromecast, and the such in the hdmi they block the USB port needed for power. I used a 90 degree hdmi adapter to make room 4) it does not charge while on. This is to help with heat mitigation but man it’s a huge flaw. So if you drain it, plug it in and continue watching for say an hour, as soon as you unplug it it’s dead. Long and the short I use mine daily for my daughter so the sound and lack of charging while on doomed it from day 1. If this wasn’t a daily used item but say for presentation or weekends it’s perfect

Fabulous peice of kit but poor power supply
What a fabulous little projector. Great native HD definition. Being LED it's not as sensitive to being moved about as one with a lamp which is perfect for my needs living in a caravan. Don't expect it to be super bright but it's great in low ambient light situations. Only issues so far are the power supply failed within 5 mintues of plugging it in - pretty rubbish!! - thankfully I already had an identicle spec supply (19v @ 3.42A) from an old laptop which works fine so didn't have to return it. The battery for the remote control was also almost dead on receipt, so the remote only works a few inches from the device until I get round to replacing the battery.

Was worth the Used price. I would buy it new too. Just a bit expensive. Worth it though.
Picked this up used, it was half the price of a new one, I’m so happy I did so. As of writing this, I’ve used it for 20 minutes as a test with my Nintendo Switch and it worked superbly. Latency is exactly what I need for playing Smash Bros online. Overall damn good. It did get warm quick like all projectors. The focus wheel was a little stiff (maybe that’s from the being used part), conclusively, this little thing is good. It would will replace my other normal HD projector when that yellow spot gets bigger :/

1080 pico projetor this thing is so worth it!
WoW!!! I have had a Philips projector for the past 6 year a mini pro Pico 3614 and it has been good very small native 480 but that was ok for what I wanted it for but then it died on me and I wanted to replace it with something brighter. after days of research I can across a great u-tube channel reviewing this projector an other peco projectors and had a look. The main thing at caught my eye was the crisp image and brightness compared to other projector of this size but I did not have an android operating system I a really liked the idea of android to stream Netflix amazon prime e.c.t. then I stumbled on the idea of a amazon fire stick with a projector a cool idea and did sum more research, well long story short I worked out I just wanted a good brightness and good native 1080 projector everything else did not matter as that could all be done thought the fire stick, Bluetooth to my sound bar no worries thought the fire stick all the streaming content I wish fire stick 1080 and 4k fire stick watch film form a usb flash drive fire stick, so I thought I would take the plunge and try it. well I am not disappointed this thing rocks plugged in the new 4k firestick and turn the projector on and yep works a treat Bluetooth my sound bar yep and then started watch a episode of blue plantet, but then realised it was day time and the lights were on the sun streaming in thought the window see pic 3 but the picture was very clear and a bit washed out but compered with my old pilihips I could on use at night or really dark room this thing was amazing as the evening can in and it got darker the image just kept getting better till pic 1 the detail and quailts of clear to see WOW just WOW love this thing. also found out if I buy the rave ac power bank 20100mak with 3 oin convertor on the top I can run the projector for another 3 h plus so out door movie night here we come over all I am very pleased with the products its a bit plasticie on the finish but the inner good are top notch if you want a small bright projector to watch home films look no further this thing is amazing with a fire stick that is. pros bright clear sharp small ish light weight cons the fan is a bit nose but noting crazy basic operating system but not why I bough this the ports could be spaced better at he back (but nit picking now)

Nice compact projector but it quit after less than 2 months!
I liked the picture quality. The brightness was great in a dark room, but not so great in daylight, which is to be expected. It is easy to set up and use. The sound was pretty good. I didn't find the fan too loud like some reviewers UNTIL we'd been using it pretty intensely for a couple weeks and then the fan started making a terrible racket—likely a bad bearing or something like that. At first it would make that noise for a while then settled down to a normal hum, but now the fan stops and the projector shuts off, so it's useless. Trying to return it, but it's passed the Amazon return date so I don't know what will happen.
