what are components inside this pen? Ink colors, pencil size, etc?

You have to buy the refills and the pencil mechanism separately.I used it with black and red pen refills (fine and medium point) and a 0.5 pencil leads. Only 3 tips can be used.As far as I know, Zebra has many refills that can be used: gel pen, blue or green ink, and 0.7 pencil leads that you can use with another pencil mechanism. Their site is not quite friendly to look for accesories.

Ink is interchangeable blk blue red. I use red blk. Lead is .7mm a nice surprise bc I thought it said .5mm. It is THE best multi-pen I've ever had (I've owned Rotring and Lamy). I only with the eraser cap was a stylus tip!

Is that real carbon fiber?

No, not a real carbon fiber. It is plastic. However, although a plastic, it does not have that cheap-plasticky-feel. It is solidly built and feels substantial and expensive.

how does the cap come off to get to the eraser? does it screw on and off?
