🚀 Elevate your prototyping game with the RedBoard Qwiic — where power meets plug-and-play precision!
The SparkFun RedBoard Qwiic is an Arduino-compatible development board featuring the ATmega328P microcontroller with Optiboot bootloader, 20 digital I/O pins (6 PWM), and 6 analog inputs. It integrates the Qwiic Connect System for easy, solderless I2C connections via a 4-pin JST connector. Powered by an upgraded AP2112 voltage regulator, it delivers up to 600mA at 3.3V, supports flexible 3.3V/5V logic levels via jumpers, and uses a USB Micro-B connector for stable, driver-friendly programming. Fully R3 shield compatible, it’s designed for fast, reliable prototyping with modern hardware conveniences.

Super easy
Lots of good starter code available and tons of documentation as well. Super easy to use and is essentially an arduino. Love it. Does exactly what I need it to do. Simple and perfect. Love it.

Uses micro B connector and doesn'te flip board over
One of the problems with Arduino's usb connector is that its stiff and rigid. Being plastic coated, it often flips the board over. Sparkfun Redboard uses the usb micro b male connector that is smaller and keeps the board upright. To use the board get the https json link from Sparkfun website and put it in other boards to update the downloads. When updated, Sparkfun AVR Redboard will show up under boards menu selection. Wayne

Worth it
Perfect for hobby use. Not aerospace quality, but doesn’t need to be.

More flexible
Redboard better suited for use in automobiles.

Never installed correctly
Spent my entire Sunday trying to get this to work - never did. Worked with the Sparkfun instructions on the page for the product. First the interface reported nothing. Then getting started guide indicated FTDI drivers should be installed, although I have another Arduino Uno (the genuine article) that installs and runs with no problem. On SparkFun's website, there must be no less than 3 different sets of instructions on installed FTDI drivers, none of which seems to match FTDI's web site. That didn't work either. Spent hours trying various combinations of drivers and paths to getting said drivers. Sparkfun, which used to have reasonable technical support, has none now. They just vector you to their forums, which provide another 30 unproven suggestions similar to the 3 FTDI install procedures. And, of course, my return window is over, so i'm stuck with a $17 brick and a wasted rare day off.

Funky Analog Pins
When using the analog pins for input, A4 and A5 pull high to the power supply voltage with a 5k apparent resistance. This makes it very difficult to use them for inputs. I have 20 of these boards but have only looked at this feature on 3 of them. But, 3 out of these 3 boards have this awkward feature. Pins A0 through A3 work as expected. I have compared these boards to Arduino Uno and found the Arduino Uno performed as expected -- that is with all analog pins floating after being designated as input.

Muy buen producto
La verdad estoy muy satisfecho con este producto, el precio es un tanto alto (cuestión de la paridad de nuestra moneda), pero la calidad y mejoras de este producto creo que vale la pena pagar.
