If you don't know that this is going to happen, I totally get the negative comments, but this is what licorice sticks are and do.This brand is a genuine item. They are exactly as I remember them from my childhood, and they smell and feel and taste clean and as fresh as a dried piece of stick can be. If you are into this, I highly recommend these. If any of this sounds alien to you, why not give it a go -- it is not expensive, and these really are the real deal!I bought them to break the habit of reaching for snacks or candy while I watch TV, but the flavor and texture brought me straight back to my grandma's kitchen. Whether it helps with the snacking or not, the trip down memory lane alone was worth it for me.

Perfect to chew on just to fill the need to taste something. Not an every day thing but awesome for battling unhealthy hunger for sweets

This product is difficult to use as a dental brush . The favor tastes like licorice, but I had a difficult time trying to peel the bark back . I gave to another guy to try it , and he also was having difficulty with peeling back the bark.
