XShear Tactical Holster, Rugged and Secure Holster for XShear 7.5" Trauma Shears, MOLLE Compatible

I love this holster to go along with my xShear's. I was skeptical due to other reviews but maybe mine will help clear things up. I work in a Emergency/Trauma Room I have always carried trauma shears in a molle sheath attached to my scrub pants for easy quick access but have gone through so many pairs of shears so I decided on the xshears and didn't want to lose that benefit so I purchased the holster along with it also do to the size and curve they wouldn't fit properly into my molle sheath. I attach the holster on my waistband, I have read reviews about the holster just falling off unless you have a belt, I have yet to have this problem if placed in the waistband correctly and haven't had an issue with comfort I dont think it was designed to be worn any other way. It is a struggle to get them off at the end of my shift but they stay secure on my scrub pants through my entire 12 hour shift without a belt or compromise in comfort. The adjustability is also nice I carry them straight up and down, I have tried other positions to see what worked best but I could see where angled and sideways would benefit EMS or Law Enforcement. The shears lock in place in the holster which is huge for me. I have always carried my trauma shears in a secure sheath with velcro but the locking feature is a huge plus and extra security in those unpredictable situation in the ER so they can't be pulled from you by an aggressive patient or fall out just moving about during your shift. To release you have to push on one of the tabs while pulling out and they lock back into place once your done, you do have to apply some force to place back into the holster but not a huge issue. Other reviews I've read stated you have to push both tabs to release making it hard to release. I carry mine on my right hip and only have to push the inner tab while pulling out and if the shears are placed backwards in the holster you push the outside tab to release. Im not sure of other reviews stating you have to push both tabs but that never worked on mine and would almost take two hands to release. I tried pushing both tabs the first time I got the holster because that's what I read in the reviews and I probably looked like my pants were on fire doing so because it makes it almost impossible to remove the shears. But I found pushing one release works everytime and locks back in secure no problem. The shears can be put back in any way so in quick situations you don't have a struggle. The reason I gave 4 stars is due to how bulky the holster is, due to the size of the shears I understand and believe this holster was probably geared towards EMS its kind of in the name of the product and didn't expect it to be a discreet holster, but it would be nice if in the future they could produce something geared towards hospital use, but this hasn't stopped me from carrying the shears in the holster just something to get use to. I would recommend this product along with the shears to anyone in EMS, Law Enforcement, or Emergency Room staff 100% it is a strong, secure and reliable holster.

I like this scissors holster as it secures my “sharps” for my safety. It is comfortable to wear in a vehicle or just sitting.

I am a bit stupid to preface this. But I carry my x Shears scout style or at my backside. I recently found out that with a significant amount of force you can lock the shears in place, due to my own error I didn't know this, and lost my shears. It is hard to remove the shears when locked in in scout style but any other way is perfect Tldr- Good locking holster solid material. Just don't be stupid like I was

This is solid and holds the X shears well. I love the shears but this holder isn’t something I end up using much. It has a 3 point complex grab clip that certainly works but to the point it is very hard to remove. That makes it great to stay on a belt ie with EMS or law enforcement. But for those who wear scrubs in a hospital it’s uncomfortable and needlessly bulky. I use the bat clip as my main shears holder now.

After much searching I found a trauma sheer holster. The price may seem a little high compared to other holsters but the only other I found were fabric. I read the reviews and they seemed to be kid of mixed. I seem some people said they were hard to get out or in which is not true, you have to kind of tab the sheers in place but to me that is good and you can easy get them out with one hand. All around great holder and fits a 2” belt perfect only downside which isn’t even big is it kind of rattled when in the holster which isn’t a big deal

Though initially skeptical due to some of the reviews I read here, I decided to give this holster a try. I love my xShears, but carrying them in a cargo pocket seemed like a great way to rip holes in my work pants. I’m an RN/Paramedic in a busy trauma center and I use shears constantly throughout my shift. For the record, I typically don’t wear scrubs the vast majority of the time (I much prefer 5.11 Stryker pants with a tactical belt.) Overall, I’ve been extremely satisfied with this holster! To be fair, you do have to get used to using it a bit before it becomes second nature. Once you get the hang of it, one-handed operation is not difficult at all. I will say, removing the holster from my belt at the end of my shift took the longest to master. At first, I just wore it home so I could struggle with it in private rather than in front of my coworkers. Now that I’ve been using it for a while, I’m able to remove it in just a few seconds and stow it in my backpack with everything else before I leave work.

I'm overall very pleased with the XSHEARS Holster. It holds the shears securely, is adjustable and yes can be troublesome getting off the duty belt. For me, an important quality is the vendor backs up the product. Mine broke at the point the holster attached to the belt clip. It got caught on the side of the ambulance as I was exiting - snapped off. The vendor replaced it within days of my notification. I appreciate that - it ain't cheap.

Sturdy, adjustable, and light. Good value for money because it's a great fit.

I've used my shears and holster for roughly two years now and, yea they took a bit of getting used to with the bulk and slightly awkward mechanism. But after a while it was as if it had always been there. I used to have the leatherman raptors and found them far to footery but the holster far better to use. Unfortunately due to the bulk my holster for the xshears snapped so no I'm wondering if there is a less bulky option. But all in all very good product holds the shears tight and (once you get used to it) can be easily deployed. But the bulk let's it down.
