Carson BigEye Magnifier with Over-sized 5-Inch Lens (HU-20)

It’s big, ahah. I thought a 5” magnifying glass was what I wanted but it’s much bigger in person. If you’re going for a costume look, like I was, you can’t beat the oversized effect though. Sturdy, heavy (in a good way), high quality magnification. Also the green is more of an olive than a deep green, fyi, and it says Carson on the handle. Still, worth the few extra bucks!

Provides sufficient magnification for my needs and was what I expected to get. Reading the miriad of reviews for magnifiers it is boggling that any reviews would actually be useful. There seem to be just as many people satisfied with a particular product as the next and many distractors that get fully into the technical aspects of diopters and true measurements of X-magnification specified in the product description compared with what they experience. This product for the price and the size was what I needed. A large field of view (only slightly distorded at the edges): Check. A focal length that allows me to work on painting fine detail at a distance that is comfortable and unobstructed: Check. A price that I was happy with: Check. This magnifier is acrylic and provides a clear view. It is not glass and so I will have to be very careful with dust and scratches. Overall I can't find any fault in the product that would warrant less than 5 stars. If you are a technical nut that needs to have a VERY specific level of magnification, buying online may be a less than ideal approach as you cannot validate before you get it in your hands.

This one is the the only one I use to read. I have expensive ones I never use.

With cataracts, you should read with lower powered reading glasses and a magnifying glass. You should look at the book straight on sort of like looking at a computer screen. This I learned with research. So it would also require using a book stand so that you have a hands-free to use the magnifying glass. This was the recommended magnifying glass. I would rather it have a better piece of glass. I wish I could find one this big that had a good piece of glass. I wouldn’t mind spending more to buy something of good quality. But it does the job.

It's a good size to check the ingredients labels that have gotten beyond small, and glasses just don't do it. The price is good too.

portable and clear enlargement

I got this for reading text in cd booklets mostly, which gets very small these days. This Carson magnifier works well for this. The wide lens is nice, I can get most of a full cd page within it. So I don't have to move the glass around very much other than forward and back to get the focus. For the money, east to hold, light, and gets text large enough for me to easily read.

My Mom using a petite magnifier every single day. She uses it several times a day rather than wearing her prescription glasses. The magnifier is approximately 2" in diameter. I have noticed she is not seeing as clearly with her "EYE" that's her nickname for the magnifier. When I came across Carson BigEye Magnifier I knew it would be the perfect Christmas Stocking Stuffer. Amazon's Prime had the magnifier in my hands in a few days. The quality appears to be there and the magnification is 2x. There is a small amount of distortion once you surpass the focal length this would be true at any cost. I like it and I know my Mom will LOVE IT! Excelente calidad y tamaño para cualquier edad!!

il rapporto qualita' prezzo e' molto soddisfacente, peccato che non si trovi piu' lo stesso articolo allo stesso prezzo ormai

gute Qualität, entspricht der Beschreibung.

Absolutely AWESOME! Looks well made. This item is listed as an often return item and I was apprehensive at ordering it, but I can understand why it may be (people have higher hopes than what this magnifying glass can offer). However, it's a perfect tool for me when looking at wild mushroom at close and personal. Thank you.
