I found this book to be a good learning tool with an abundance of information. I will certainly use the different sources mentioned in this book. I also appreciate the tips for spreadsheets and record keeping. This book made me realize vital things I need to start using not just for reviews but everyday things. Do you want to review stuff on your blog? This will give you some ideas for doing just that. At least to start. Though I love reviewing items, this book makes it feel like a full-time job, and I am retired for a reason. And this feels like it is for monetary gain. That's fine, too. Who doesn't want a little more income? But I don't feel I need to add more stuff to my home or work so hard for it. Still, these ideas may work for others. It only took less than an hour to read. That should spark a creative flash or two. I will keep this Kindle book for reference. Just in case I need ideas.

Tells mainly about what is needed about setting up a blog and marketing yourself in order to receive free items to review. Gives a couple of websites for people to review items received free. Other than that, there is not much information to find the companies that give away products besides writing, emailing or calling them and letting them know about your blog and media kit. Your can just as easily contact companies and ask if they have a program for new product testing that you could join. There are some companies that do which are looking for people who fit certain criteria. Really, all you can do is ask. This book, however, deals more with setting yourself up on a blog and getting exposure.

As others have noted, the information in this guide covers everything a beginner would need to know, so it might seem a little basic. But the title doesn't claim that this is for experienced reviewers, so I'm not sure why someone would be surprised to find basic information. Although I've been reviewing for years and have more recently gotten into reviewing free and discounted items, there's always more to learn and there is something to be said about getting the perspective of an experienced reviewer, in a nice concise guide. I like being able to refer my friends and acquaintances to this, since it sometimes get tedious to explain and re-explain the "how to get started" part. I was able to read this book for free as a member of Kindle Unlimited.

The name is misleading because it gives you more information about blogging and networking than actually giving you the tools and links to really getting people to give you products for free or at a discount to review. The book is very short, and you can sit down and finish it in no time. Any seasoned blogger or someone who has been doing product reviews for a while will more than likely find this book somewhat boring, but it could possibly work for someone who is looking into starting a blog. This book is listed on Amazon as free for Kindle, so it's not a waste of anyone's money.
