I use this to roast coffee 3 times a week. It works so great and is very easy to use. The coffee roasts evenly and tastes amazing.

I find it does quite well with 8 ounces of beans. As you try to roast more beans than 8, the roast takes longer and the roast gets more uneven. Around 12 ounces and the roast quality/taste has fallen quite a bit due to how long it took to roast the beans. I've only had it for several weeks and roasted around 10 lbs of coffee, so I don't now how long it will last. Seems pretty well made, but time will tell.Update after 4 months: It finally dawned on my to use my "kill-a-watt" meter to measure the wattage this Coffee Roaster was drawing and found it to be only 870 watts. The headline for the item on Amazon advertized it as 1200 Watts, and the UL label on the back of the the machine claims its 1200 watts. This would explain why it can't handle the full coffee weight it advertized. What really upsets me is that there were 800 watt competitors for 25 or 30 dollars less. I have no idea if my unit is one of a small percentage that comes in way below the advertized wattage, or if this vendor is passing off a substandard unit to everyone. In any event, I dropped my rating from the prior 4 stars down to 2. It's still performing as I said in the initial review. I just don't like getting ripped off. If you do buy one of these units, measure the wattage while you can still return it.Update after 6 months: I reached out to the vendor (gulius), even though it was beyond the 90 day window. They wanted to make thing right, even though I contacted them late and they sent me a replacement unit (very good vendor!). Unfortunately, this unit was also underpowered, though a bit better than the first (low 900's), But, after I calmed down about the undersized heating element, realized that if I had bought a unit rated 800, it might only produce 600 watts of heat, and thought solely about the performance of the unit as is, I bumped my rating back to the original 4 stars. It does a very nice job on 8 ozs of coffee. I can stretch that a little, but if I go all the way to 12oz, I am disappointed with the results (uneven roast and tastes a bit more "baked" than roasted). But, I don't want to return it, and if it lasts a several years, would probably even buy it again, knowing about the shortcoming.

Was so excited to get this item. Arrived in a plastic bag containing a cardboard box for the product. Unfortunately the box was significantly damaged, and when I opened the box, had three black shards of plastic. Upon inspection I discovered they were parts broken off the support braces for the roaster. I took the roaster apart to repair the damage, and got a a good look at the innards. Not impressed by design or build quality.. Plastic parts do not appear to be heat resistant plastic, so not sure how it's going to stand up to 450 degree heat for roasting coffee. Wiring harnesses appear to be very flimsy. Absolutey no instructions included. Will update review after we have been able to roast a batch.

It is easy to use but the amount of coffee i can toast in a batch is less than a half of a pound

Item does not come with timer as stated. Same item can be found for $30 less through Amazon. UPDATE... after fifth use heating element quit. Stay far away from this product.

I learned to roast coffee beans in this pot. It was so fun and best it was great way to save money on coffee beans by half. Great buy.

The coffee roaster is great but it comes with very little instructions for proper use.

I've only used this twice, but so far so good. Only thing od like different, is if the dial read Fahrenheit instead of celcius. But, not a big deal
