The Perfect Every Day Bible To Read From...
I have not been able to get rid of my poor old "dog-eared" KJV bible which I read every day. Now it is past the time to have replaced it and with too many rolls of scotch tape used to hold it together I decided to make an extensive search for a good and much valued book that I read every single day. Knowing that I have bought some very expensive bibles in the past that I didn't want to damage from every day use I decided to make a check into several websites that only sell KJV bibles. I saw this particular bible and fell in love with it right away! Since I like to read with my bible wherever I am at the moment it usually means being propped open on my lp. After all it is the most comfortable way for me to read. But after seeing the damage done to my "dog-eared bible I wanted to try the hardcover version of this particular bible and I am very happy that I made this choice. One other thing that I liked about this particular bible was that it had no distractions at the bottom of the verses (word explanations) so that it would not hinder my reading. If you need a large print bible as I do this one has a perfect sized print! After having had cataract surgery on both my eyes (twice for each eye) I value quality print and it is the perfect one for me. It its my hope that others who want to purchase a new bible see this review. I still have not gotten rid of my dog-eared bible but as soon as I finish highlighting the pages I will put it into retirement. Thank you Amazon for giving such a wide assortment of books and some very good prices on them as well. This was the perfect gift for myself and thanks to you I will enjoy my daily devotions again instead of trying to place the pages back into a mangled cover...

Excellent
I had the Pitt-Minion which I loved, but alas the print became too small or my eyes became too old, haha. This is like the Pitt-Minion, but with a bigger font. Lovely! Great price here too. Thanks. I should also mention that the font is a lovely old-fashioned font (from 1920 I believe) that perfectly suits the KJV. I love it!

One of the Best NRSV's I Have Found...and I've Done A Lot of Looking
I have searched high and low for the best NRSV around. I own or have owned every high end NRSV that I could get my hands on including OXford's offerings, Cambridge's Minster Text Edition and Calfskin Reference Edition, and R.L. Allan's edition. For my taste and needs, this is one of the best. The leather looks great, is soft to the touch (unlike the Allan which has a hard surfaced finish), and loosens up very quickly with regular use. The size of the Bible is perfect for me (as opposed to the Cambridge reference edition which is a larger Bible) The Paper is nice, thick, and relatively opaque (especially when compared with earlier Cambridge offerings and the Oxford editions). The text is very readable and the font is a good size (9pt I think). I prefer a simple text edition over a reference edition (the main reason this wins out over Allan's fine edition). The one ribbon marker is thick and long. This 2002 edition does not have any of the well documented problems of the 2006 edition w/ Apocrypha. If you are looking for a good NRSV without references or apocrypha, that you can carry around, read easily, and that will last, this is an absolutely superb Bible.

King James, large print--better than regular print
Large print is much preferred over regular print. And of course the King James Bible is much preferred over subsequent translations like NIV, RSV, ESV etc which have significantly changed scripture passages and words to less powerful meanings, even leaving significant verses out of the main text.!! (ie Matthew 17:21, 18:11, 6:13b, 23:14, Mark 11:26, Luke 1:28, Acts 8:37 and so on). I often wonder who the "scholars" were that came up the modern versions---so much is watered down. A major rape of scripture: 1 John 5:7-8 (a clear picture of the Trinity) in NKJV and KJV reads "For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.", while in the NIV Bible, these verses have been reduced to " For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement." Yikes. Stick with NKJV and KJV Bibles if you want the whole Truth from God. A great book for more info and scriptures changed is "NEW AGE BIBLE VERSIONS" by Gail Riplinger.

Excellent Bible
I'm so glad I bought this. I was hesitant at first, but it is so easy on my eyes (which aren't as good as they used to be). Binding seems sturdy, print is large and bold. I could not have asked for more!

Print not large enough
This is not large print to me. The Bible is nicely maid. For me their large print is too close to standard. Is there an extra large print?. It’s just my opinion.

A Very Well-Made Bible
Cambridge still makes a beautiful Bible- this one is my daily reader to repace my old Cameo that is shown in the picture. It was given to me in 1976; back then they were a lot cheaper- $27.50! And I haven't been able to find another Bible with the same features that falls in my price range. So far the only flaw I've noticed in this Bible is that the self-pronouncing signs are incomplete for the name "Miniamin" in Nehemiah 12:41. If I wasn't reading it aloud I probably would have missed it.
