Q: What’s the compatibility as far as using it with other license free handheld radios like a retivis

The 19 MINI CB cannot talk to other license-free handheld radios unless communicating with another CB user - for a variety of factors but mainly because radios must operate on the same band, mode and frequencies to talk to each other (i.e. CBs are HF (3 - 30 MHz) and operate on AM, license-free walkie talkies are FRS (462 - 467 MHz) and operate on FM).

We recommend checking your antenna system from end to end. Start with the PL-259 coax connector. Make sure the coax center wire and shield are solidly connected to the PL-259 plug and that the plug is fully seated onto the radio antenna jack. If your confident with the integrity of the connection on that end then move to the antenna and check for bad coax connections or loose antenna components.
