AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER - THE COMPLETE SERIES

The animation and story are just pure amazing! I strongly recommend this cartoon/anime.But sadly, the packaging was really bad. Although I was able to watch the context inside the disk, the plastic box was very broken. I was shocked when I saw the box, and when I shook it, it would make noises of plastic bits inside, and I had to tape all the bits back together before enjoying the context. Even though this has happened, because the disks were unharmed, and that I absolutely love the siries, I will give 5 stars.

これほどまでに優れた映像作品が日本ではあまり認知されていないことが残念というか、自分だけが知ってることをうれしく思うべきなのか。日本アニメ作品を大量に見続けてきたが、はっきり言ってこれ一作でほとんど全部を打ちのめしてしまうくらいに優れている。製作者は日本アニメ作品を良く知っていて、随所にオマージュと思われる箇所があり、またクリーチャーデザイン(アパ←ジブリのトトロ)などでも親和性を持たせたようだ。しかし日本作品のような雰囲気でもってストーリーが進行するようなことはなく、むしろ説明(あるいはスピーチ、または言い争い)によって問題解決を図ろうとする。例外はアジアンテイスト(仏教)を取り入れたがために宗教的(スピリチュアル)な一体感あるいは統一感覚により物語が進行する局面。難しいようだが、もともと子供向けに作られているもののため、わかりやすく展開し視聴する上で特に困惑するということはない。登場人物たちは非常に個性的でかつ魅力にあふれており、主要な人物たちには間違いなく好感を抱くことができる。中途で参入するメンバーが特にすばらしいのだがネタバレになるため割愛する。ジョークも切れがいい(サッカ？)。エァン(アン)が主人公とされているが、登場人物たちが魅力的ということは主人公の影が薄くなるということでもある。そしてそういう傾向は終盤局面まで続いてしまう(もちろん最後には活躍機会がたっぷり用意されているのだが)。プリンス・ズーコが敵役ということになっているが、実際にはこちらが主役といっても差し支えないほどに人間的に成長する素晴らしい役柄となっている。全部で61エピソードということでやや長いのだが、ほとんどが1話で完結するきりのよい進行となっているので少しずつでも視聴できるだろう。すべてのエピソードを見終わることで得られるものは何か？ 子供向け(低年齢視聴者向け)に作られているといっても大人が見ても何の問題もなく、むしろ心を枯らした大人こそが見るべき作品かもしれない。

When I read other reviews, I was confused about what they meant about double lines on the DVD format. Once I received mine, I realized what everyone was talking about. The double lines last until about halfway through book one and I didn't notice them in books two and three so I think it's only in the earlier books that have those issues. I watched the series growing up as a child so I don't really care that the beginning has some weird lining because I love the show. A lot of people said the issue goes away in the blue-ray version so if that's something that bothers you, you can go the more expensive route.I gave this a four stars, not for the content cuz that's fantastic, but because the corners of the box were damaged when I received it. I didn't buy it for the box but I know some people care about that. The DVDs were fine and they all worked like they were supposed to. Four stars for the box 😂
