Failed in less than 6 months!
Horrible product - absolutely do not recommend! I’m a commercial 737 pilot who has flown with my trusty old Telex 750 for about 6 years when the wires finally chafed and failed. When looking for a replacement, I found the Telex Airman 8, which seemingly beefed up the wire areas that failed on my original purchase. My initial impressions of the Telex Airman 8 were positive and it seems that the Airman 8 made marginal improvements over the old 750 series. However after 6 short months of use, the entire headset quit working. No receive, no transmit... unless I jiggle my head in just the right way. There seems to be a shorted wire somewhere where the wire bundle inserts into the ear cup. And for the record, I always store my headset in its case and treat it with care.Pros: light weight, comfortable.Cons: noise reduction isn’t that impressive. Quality and durability did not meet my expectations as a commercial pilot. Telex customer service is non-existent.What’s more disappointing is Telex’s customer service. Their warranty refers you to a Bosch website that refers you to other websites that end up in an endless search for assistance.Bottom line: absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Loud hum-will be returning
Used in B-717 for one 3 day trip. Replacement for 15+ yr old 850's. Found these to be ok comfort-wise, but finicky to stay put on head. The ear cups are rather limited in rotational adjustment range, leaving me with a hot spot on the one ear I would slightly uncover to hear other pilot. Also, the whole headset would slip/rotate forward when looking down- as the mic swivel adjust is rather stiff, this slipping on the head had the effect of constantly moving the mic down away from my mouth. However, my biggest complaint is that I experienced a loud hum that was unbearable & fatiguing in 75% of the jets used in (swapped acft multiple times passing through hub). I had to take them off & use the 750's provided by the company in the cockpit. This may just be a 717 impedance related issue, but a deal breaker for me, so they're going back. That being said, in the few jets that the hum was not bad in, the noise cancelling was excellent.

Uncomfortable, Non-existent noise protection
Used this for multiple trips on the 737. Although the headset is very light, it is very uncomfortable on the ears after about an hour. The ENC doesn’t do much for the higher pitched wind noise on the 737. It has virtually zero passive noise protection since the ear pieces don’t fit tight on the ears. Bought this to replace my lost David Clark Pro X which is much better than the Airman 8. I only bought the Telex because it was the only brand in stock and thought I’d give it a try. Very disappointed. Will be returning.

Great for the B-717 Aircraft
Purchased this headset as a middle of the road compromise headset for work, as I didn’t want a cheap flimsy headset and getting a new Zulu or Bose was unnecessary when flying the B-717.Although a little stiff and will need breaking in, it’s perfect if your aircraft doesn’t have a hot mike and you use the speakers mostly. Only thing I do NOT like about it is the soft case it came with: very flimsy and doesn’t protect the headset well at all. Will be putting it in my old Zulu case.

Great Update to the 750
Nice headset, nice improvements over the old 750 I've had for 20 years. And the noise cancelling is just enough in a larger jet. May not be if you are in a turbo prop. And for the price, not bad at all. It's doesn't do bluetooth, doesn't have gain, doesn't have multiple inputs. It just a well made, light, comfortable headset, that cancels just enough noise for me.

Terrible New Version
Had Telex 850 for past 6 years and plastic finally broke, loved the 850 so tried updated version. Cheaper plastic, hard ear cushions, large and bulky in carrying case, ear-cups do not swivel. Terrible airline design, cannot use one earcup only as headset falls off due to non-rotating earcups. Does not create seal over ears to cancel noise, every head turn allows noise in. It’s such a terrible design! Buy an older Telex 850 or something else.

Uncomfortable
Purchased for a professional flight department, we have used these for the eight years we have owned this plane. Unfortunately the have redesigned the swivel for the connection with the head band and where the ear portion meet and it does not swivel enough making them very uncomfortable. I would consider other options
