Not much room on a canoe, so this small horn fits the bill & boating requirements. Durable enough to store in a backpack & quick access if needed.

The size is small so the duration is not very long. It is portable and you can carry it in your pocket and thus have it on hand when you need it. I used it when I went into the wood in Oregon or Alaska before going into the woods to notice my presence. It was very useful.

I tried this item in the mountain and I wanted to make sure is enough noisy to repel any bear presence. 100% recommend

Didn't work. I got it for walking my dog against other dogs getting to friendly. 1st. time I tried it, nothing. It is also palm size that fooled me from the picture. I should have read the fine print. I didn't bother going through all the return antics,I just threw it away.I will drop buy Boaters world and buy a real air horn.

We get coyotes in the backyard and I do a lot of hiking with my dog in the wilderness. I bought this in addition to bear spray to protect my dog. I keep it by the back door where I let my dog out to go potty. One afternoon my husband noticed a coyote in the backyard and my dog was out there too. My dog is about 47 lbs and chased it off but she is getting older and will not be able to fight off even one coyote. I haven't had to use it since I bought it, but it does provide some peace of mind. I also put these in stockings for my kids since they have dogs and do a lot of hiking.

I got this specifically for hiking in the woods with my dog. We had a bear run-in recently, and although I did not need to use the bear spray, having something more powerful than my yelling for it to go away would have been helpful. This specific Bear Horn is made by the same people who make the Bear Spray. It is tiny and packable in my knapsack, or my hip (fanny) pack, and even fits into the leg pockets on my cargo pants, but is extremely loud. Worth the peace of mind alone!

We used it every morning and afternoon once for bear deterrence . It worked fine. But, after a short while it just stop working. Disappointing.
