After hearing my friend's Bose SoundLink Max speaker at a party at his house I decided I had to have one too. So I purchased it and it arrived today (April 29th, 2025). After unboxing and charging the speaker to full, I easily connected it to my phone's Bluetooth. Downloading the Bose App and adjusting the equalizer settings, I played Augustin Hadelich's Sibelius Violinkonzert and the sound quality was truly exceptional. Clear highs and deep rich base. It is amazing how much sound such a small speaker is able to produce in stereo. I also have other Bose Bluetooth speakers (two Bose S1 Pro's, two Bose Revolve's), but what distinguishes this one is that it plays in stereo as a single unit, the battery life is 20 hours, and is smaller and lighter than my S1 Pro speaker. Easily take it to the beach (waterproof - IP67 rated), parties, or just personal listening wherever I go. The look and build quality of the speaker is also great. The speaker is ruggedly built, is shock resistant, and should withstand every day use. Like the rope handle too. The speaker is well worth the money and I highly recommend it.UPDATEI take it to the office every day and play classical music in the background while I work. Whether it's Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Sibelius, Vivaldi, or Bruch to mention a few, the speaker reproduces the orchestra and soloists perfectly.

I was difinitely hesitant with the price tag. You'd have to be either dumb or too loaded not to be. I decided to try this out when it went on sale (never pay full retail for Bose). Having said that, worth it. To compare, I've had my Soundlink Color for 10 years, which doesn't hold a charge quite as it used to, but still sounds/works great otherwise. The max has a much sturdier build with a battery life to match and it sounds way more amazing. I'm confident it will last just as well, if not better. If you're someone with a discerning ear who puts those portable speakers to work, you will definitely appreciate this thing as I do. Bonus that I can link it to my bose sound bar and other bose speakers for a surround sound effect (I got an absolute steal of a deal on the 550 which retails at $499 and this max sounds more rich and full, no doubt). Yup, I know with time I'll get my money's worth.

Sounds amazing. Customizable EQ. Very capable. HiFi sound, love the size and portability. Lot of sound for its size. Case is nice! Bought a shoulder strap and silicon case to protect it. So far so amazing.

Love the speaker! The Bluetooth pairing is seamless. I really like the nice big crisp sound.

Satisfied with the sound and portability 💯 big bass for little speaker!! 400$ a bit steep for the speaker. I would suggest waiting for sale! Then would be well worth the money.

Horrible distortion, even at medium volume and without changing the settings on the equalizer. Very surprised how bad this speaker is. Never witnessed such a poor sound from any of the other Bose products I have.And the case that comes with it doesn’t really fit. Too big and speaker is loose inside. If you try to pack the charger with it then it’s hard to close the case. And there is a strap that is just in the way and makes it hard to get the speaker inside.
