The pillow itself is probably a 5 star pillow. It is made in Italy and well crafted. It is dense, has a cooling pad layer, and weighs in at nearly 8 lbs! It is all things I thought I would love. So why 3 stars...1) I find it too thin and there is no way to increase the thickness. After 2 nights, I just couldn't do it anymore. I'm 6'2", 240 lbs, with broad shoulders. I could easily have used a couple more inches of height. I gave it to my wife who is a fraction of my size. She had the same issue - even she wished it was taller.2) The pillow definitely tries to be a cooling pillow, but it just doesn't really work in practice. You can see the cooling gel pad in the product pictures, and it seems like it should work. There is a sealed (no zipper) fabric layer around the entire pillow, then there is a thick removable (zipper) decorative layer around the pillow, and then you probably have a pillow case around that. With three layers of fabric between you and the gel, I didn't notice any cooling effect.3) The price is a tad crazy. I get it is hard to put a price on a good night's sleep, but you are buying some foam and gel wrapped in a pillow case. I guess if I really fell in love with this pillow, I might be able to ignore the price.
