Deluxe 4-Way Wiring Kit for Fender Telecaster (Tele)

Great quality on the actual parts. Very clean and no noise. Biggest issue was the wiring chart was incorrect. I followed it exactly and got no sound out at all. Luckily I have a strong electronics background and was able to draw a schematic from their wiring diagram and find their problem. They were missing a ground connection for the capacitor/potentiometer connection, which happens to be the main ground (so they had no grounding). Once I fixed that, it was great. The 4-way switch offers a very unique sound for a Tele, while keeping all the other normal sounds. On my Tele, I had to drill out all of the potentiometer holes on the metal plate so the new ones would fit, AND had to drill out the control knob holes too (shafts were thicker). Also the slot on the plate had to be sawed a little more on both ends to accommodate the 4-way switch (has a slightly longer arc of movement). And the hole on the jack plate had to be drilled out more to take the new output jack. So you might want to buy their control plate to save yourself some work, unless you are handy with a drill and jig saw. If you are not up on electronic circuits, you probably won't get this to work if you go by the included wiring diagram, which is a shame since the parts are such high quality.

I started making my own wiring harness years ago. It is nice to find kits like these that have everything need to make a quality wiring harness at the fraction of the price of buying ready made harnesses. It is not brain surgery to make one and these are the people to get the kits to make them. This has to be my 8th kit from these people and they are always spot on and the components are always the best quality and always work.

Works great.I'm reviewing for anyone who might not buy this because of review of the wiring diagram not being correct. IT IS CORRECT, mostly. I tried to attach a photo of the included wiring diagram because I think it is just confusion on looking at it. I have a strong electronics background, so I was not affraid.If you look at the diagram and see two wires crossing the back of the volume pot then it will not work. If you see that those are 4 wires soldered to the back of the volume pot, then it in fact works. Except it should be 5 wires because your "run to ground" from the neck pickup needs to be soldered there also.

The product is excellent and I would have awarded it five stars except the included wiring diagram is incorrect and I had to go online to search out correct instructions and diagram. I don't know why they couldn't just have been included with the product in the first place.

This 4-way switching kit came with great high quality materials, an easy to understand wiring diagram and was available at a great price. Very satisfied. The 4-way switching setup will give you the classic Tele tones in the first 3 positions (bridge, neck+bridge in parallel, neck) but in the 4th position it puts the bridge and neck pickups in series for a higher output, thicker sound which will take you into humbucker territory tonally.Just be careful that the control cavity on your Tele is deep enough - the 4-way switch sits pretty deep and I had to rout an additional 1/8" out of one end of the control cavity so the control plate would sit flush without the switch bottoming out in the cavity.

Should have just spent a few more bucks for higher quality sound results.

The components are of great quality, the 4 way PU selector and the potentiometers feels very solid. I install the kit on my Squier classic vibe custom and it improved the tone of the guitar. Is very easy to install the components and the wiring diagram is very understandable. Recommended if you want to improve your electronics in your guitar.

Era lo que necesitaba mi telecaster para silenciar esos ruidos molestosos. No le quito estrellas porque valoro en sí el artículo más que otra cosa. Lo único que él diagrama que trajo para nada lo utilice, no soy un diestro en electrónica ni un erudito en el entendimiento de estas conexiones. Pero con un poco de tiempo, youtube, paciencia y detenimiento puedes instalarle sin mayores inconvenientes. Lo único es que para fijarlo en la placa de metal debes ampliar los huecos pues estos potenciómetros son más grandes. Pero son robustos y de muy buena calidad.
