Outstanding Thoroughly Absorbing Read
An excellently written and well researched read by Walter Isaacson and a truly incredible insight into the world of building a company from scratch, losing it and then re-building it into a juggernaut of the 21st century. This book isn't written with rose-tinted glasses and doesn't look to paint the subject as god-like either. I love the fact the book is in cooperation with the man himself. It delves into Steve's personal and professional life. I learned a lot of things I didn't previously know, such as just how big a part Steve played in getting Pixar off the ground, and not just from a financial stand point either. As a user of Apple products, but not a fanboy, I was enthralled in particular by how the company was built and the last handful of chapters after Steve came back rejuvenated the company and turned it around. The personal side of Steve and the way he treats others, even those closest to him, is laid out here and shows how he struggled with the social and relationship side of life at times. But on the professional side of things there's no doubt the man had a gift and truly cared about his work and leaving a legacy. This book shows Steve's passion for making great products and the lengths he was willing to go to in order to achieve his objectives. I love this book and would recommend anyone for a superb read.
