So, buy while they are still selling!Ever played a game that allows you to level up before tackling the main storyline? That is the situation our protagonist finds herself in as an iseaki gamer. Knowing the dangers to come in the future, she prepares with gusto, leveling herself up to the max. Now she must navigate a delicate road of avoidance at becoming an antagonist towards the game’s main heroine and multiple love interests. A very taxing effort since her powers are the exact opposite of the main heroine, and our protagonist happens to be a hidden boss!It’s very difficult to have a deadpan character as a protagonist, as they are better suited as supporting characters. What makes this dry speaking character work in this show, is this gamer’s inability to understand that standard gamer strategies are terrifying to an NPC populace! There is no way they can implement a gamer’s level grinding and come out alive. Yet this naïve gamer keeps pressing on, generous with her wisdom and careful with her unrivaled strength.This is fun to watch if you play video games. I enjoyed this show and am happy to add it to my collection.

The anime is an adequate adaptation of the 'Villainess Level 99' light novels, with good writing and character development. The animation- including the computer graphics used for the monsters- could be better, but it could also be MUCH worse.The release is half-baked, not only lacking English dubbing, but translated lyrics to the opening and closing songs, denying potential fans other ways to enjoy it.
