Great WiFi connection all round my house
This is a great solution for extending your broadband (WiFi) connection round the house. My Homehub just doesn’t give me the coverage I need: upstairs, into a home office that we created out of a garage, and on to a deck area off the kitchen, so I have tried range extenders and powerline units but nothing gave good enough wifi signal.I started looking for another solution and came across this product from D-Link.At £200 it’s not the cheapest on the market but it was really easy to set-up and the POD’s look quite nice around the house – not too intrusive, even my wife thought they looked OK.I’ve put one POD in the hall which gives great coverage in all the bedrooms upstairs so the kids can stream films etc (I haven’t checked the signal in the toilet but I’m sure it will be OK), my Wifi signal is great in the office as well, even though a pretty thick external brick wall. I also put one in the kitchen which gives us great WiFi on the decking for streaming music.I can walk around the house on a skype call now without losing the signal – with the old setup I kept losing the signal as I went from connecting to the homehub then to an extender etc.Overall I’m really happy with it.

Good wifi coverage and great price
Been able to cover my whole house and in the garden with this product, love the router config as it allows for a guest wifi connection so saves giving friends your network details. Its easy to setup but doesnt give you much control over the wifi configuration so you just have to use what they give you. But for the price i paid its a great solution.

COVR mesh worse than a single good quality WIFI router
I really wanted to believe the hype and replace my router and access point, using different SSIDs, with a mesh system. Alas the COVR system is not the solution. It automatically switches between 2.4 & 5 GHz, more often the not my mobile showed fully strength wifi but the web page would stutter. 2.4 GHz range is VERY poor, I actually ordered a 2nd set of 3 units to populate other rooms but found it has problems even with strong reception on a mobile device. I tried it with new Sony mobile and an apple phone both suffered similar pregnant pauses when loading web pages. The only positive is easy of setup (don't use the app, it's rubbish) the web interface is OK, I needed to reserve some IP addresses which was fairly straight forward.I cancelled the order for the 2nd set of 3 and returned to initial kit of 3. I was using wired Ethernet (1000BASE-T) to connect the COVRs together, they found each other without a problem.I'm considering the deco M5 system instead, but my research is needed and a web interface to the setup is essential.UPDATE 30/12/19Now using a ASUS AiMesh system, it works! has great 2.4ghz range, currently have 3 units. Good coverage over the whole house2 x RT-AC67U, 1 x RT-AC66U-B1

D-Link COVR has solved my Wi-Fi dead spots!
Just a note to share my experience with D-Link's new COVR-1203 Wi-Fi system. I use the latest BT black router, which offers great Internet speeds when you are plugging directly into it via ethernet or are located nearby with a smartphone. It is poor in a larger home with concrete walls. I had D-Link's COVR working in a matter of minutes. One box is located by the router and plugged in via an ethernet cable. The other two units and located at far points of the house to provide a WI-FI network that now spans the whole house. You also get extra ethernet ports on all the units to add a wired desktop, IP Camera, or Apple TV etc. Excellent bit of kit and has a real quality 'Applesque' feel!

Very poor setup and worse signal quality than standard ISP-supplied routers
My home has some WiFi dead zones which are not covered by my existing ISP-supplied router and a single WiFi repeater plug socket, so I hoped to eliminate these by purchasing this D-Link kit. Unfortunately this product is immature or just plain ineffective technology and left me with even more problems than before. The setup is touted as being "easy" via the D-Link app. It was not easy. There are serious fundamental flaws with the app and the setup of the units themselves. For example, I plugged in the main access point and proceeded with the setup guide. However at no point in the guide does it actually tell you when to plug in your slave/repeater points, and I didn't do this until after I'd set up the main unit.Problem is, as part of setting up the main unit, I sensibly changed the username/password for the device, and this apparently meant that when I finally did plug in the slave units, they were unable to sync/connect to the main unit as I'd changed the password. Again, this fact is not mentioned anywhere and indeed I am only guessing that this was the reason I couldn't pair all the units because it started working fine once I'd performed a master reset of the main unit.Secondly the app interface is seriously terrible. It is SO FRUSTRATING that there's no way to identify which unit you're currently configuring. You see three icons on the app (one for each unit) but it doesn't actually tell you which is which! So when you click on one, you don't know if you're clicking on the unit in your hall or the unit in your bedroom (for example). This happens even after you change the names of the devices -- the nicknames you give them (e.g. "Hall") don't actually appear on the main overview screen of the app! Utterly maddening - did they perform ANY user testing on this at all? Finally the mesh is limited to a maximum of four units in total (including the main one) which means this really isn't future proof.I should have listened to the other poor reviews.

Works well overall
Took a while to set up. Led lights should be off but occasionally flash white or orange. Not ideal when located in a bedroom
