The caffeine content can vary slightly depending on the type and quality of Matcha used. So if we are talking 1 serving of matcha which is 1 gram or about 1/2 tsp, this will give you approx 72 mg of the EGCG catechin, matcha’s main antioxidant. And a total catechin content of about 110 to 140 mg per gram. FDA suggests 210mg is a recommended amount of EGCG on a daily basis. EGCG only comes from tea by the way. Matcha does contain other antioxidants like Vitamin C and E, but i have not seen an actual antioxidant daily recommendation. I’d suggest 1 to 2 cups a day of a high quality matcha will give you a decent amount of antioxidants to fight all those free radicals. Personally, I drink 2 cups a day, I dont get sick, and never see a doctor.
