Knife is very sharp, and sheath is perfect. Not a cheap sheath, but well made and thought out to protect the tip and edge. I especially like the snap to hold the blade in place. This knife will be a gift for my son who has taken a real shining to filleting fish with my Huusk Damascus steel boning knife.I considered the boning knife for him, but lack of a sheath makes it less of a good choice for taking afar on fishing trips. I think this will be a present he holds dear rest of his years.

I love Japanese knives bc they retain their sharpness and quality. This knife was a little bigger and a lot heavier than I thought but it's super sharp and so well made. I've seen other knives like this for triple the price. It comes with a tough leather case for storage. I gave it 4 stars bc of the size and weight. I have small hands and after using for prepping a meal, my hands were sore. Also, I had a hard time finding a storage space bc of the knife's size. I still highly recommend.

This Nakiri knife's 7 inch blade is very sharp, and the total weight is over 12 ounces. In comparison my 8 inch chef's knife is 7 ounces. The combination of sharpness and weight make slicing and chopping veggies almost effortless. The included leather case provides a good home when knife is not in use.
