This was worth the money to buy. Very useful & a lot easier to use with the laminate installation kit than the tapping block that came with the kit. It has 2 ridges on it to tap the laminate edge so that it locks in. One ridge wraps around the edge completely & the other edge sits on top (I used this one when ensuring the piece of laminate was locked together). Found it very necessary & useful.

Does much better than your average plastic blocks used. Has multiple slots that fit very firm between laminate, vinyl, and hardwood.

This big hunk of solid material works pretty well as a tap block. It has several different areas to hook the flooring on. Is it better than using a scrap of laminate? Not really. It works but it should not be necessary if the pieces fit together correctly. May work for a tight area or special cases. The price is low enough to have on hand if you need it.
