All around great product.

Fits perfectly
I bought this for my gopro to fit on my 3 meter selfie stick. The mount that the selfie stick came with didn’t have a good grip so it was messing up my videos. But I’m happy now with this purchase. Great quality and just what i needed.

Well made accessory but aluminum doesn't grip as tightly as plastic does.
While I initially thought getting aluminum mounts for my GoPro Hero 12 was a good idea to give the mount more strength over the common plastic mounts, I was wrong. The reason is - that the aluminum doesn't have the ability to squeeze together against the other fingers it fits into as much as plastic does. This means that no matter how hard you tighten the knob against the aluminum mount, it doesn't "give" (flex) enough to tighten down securely against the mating fingers - no matter how tightly you crank down on it.Therefore, there's too much play and not enough friction between the fingers to hold everything tightly using aluminum mounts while the mating fingers on plastic mounts, on the other hand, do have enough flex to push against each other and hold together tightly.

Metal GoPro mounts in general are not a great idea
The media could not be loaded. So, I got metal fingers for the gopro mount earlier and then I got this metal base for it as well. What I have come to realize is that although technically metal works and for many many things in photography and videography metal is superior to plastic, this is one place where plastic rules and metal holds a second place. When I pair the metal fingers to the metal base, with a bit of force, as may happen during an action activity, the fingers move changing the angle of the camera and the top. The same happens if I use plastic top and metal bottom or the metal top and plastic bottom. With plastic fingers and plastic base, the joint is pretty much immovable. So, although this piece is solid metal, really well constructed, and has a small profile, it would not be my top choice for action camera footage. I would still use all plastic mounts given the chance of inadvertently moving the camera angle and getting bad or unusable footage.Rating it 4/5 but watch the video to see how things work in the various combinations.
