Steve and Maggie: Maggie's Birthday Surprise Hardcover – Picture Book, 3 Sept. 2024

Great book, my daughter loves it.

This book is wonderful, it looks like a lot of love and care has gone into producing it. The story is charming, and the illustrations are superb throughout. My little girl has had this as her main bedtime story almost every night since she got it on Christmas Day. It’s about a 5 to 10 minute read, depending on how much you put on character voices for them! My 3 year old has no trouble following the story, and can already recite the whole thing back to me, to the point that if I try and skip over a word or two she calls me out on it. No early finish for this father!All in all, this is the perfect book for any young Steve & Maggie fan, and I’ll be pre-ordering the next one in the series for my daughter.

Until this book my son had never sit down and heard me read a story! Not only he pays absolute attention throughout all the reading, he also asks for it over and over again! A great success!

My daughter absolutely loves this book. Laughing out loud as Maggie is getting up to her naughty tricks with Steve.

My son got this from Santa.I’ve had to read it to two of my kids every night since then. She is 8 and he is 6.33 nights in a row now so far.That says it all. They love it

Daughter is OBSESSED with Steve and maggie ! It’s hard to come by and this is the first book I’ve managed to find !It is perfect and couldn’t be happier with it !Is exactly as described .Very happy

This is a fun picture book with some great illustrations too. It's Maggie's birthday tomorrow and she's all excited and Steve promises to bake her a cake, a chocolate cake. So Steve and Maggie make a list of all the ingredients for the cake, and head to the shops to buy everything they'll need for the cake and party. However, when coming back home a disaster happens and they lose all the ingredients they bought. Maggie is upset about the loss of the chance to eat a chocolate cake, but will her birthday party work out in the end? The paperback is filled with thick glossy pages of some fun illustrations and text.Maggie and Steve head to the shops for the ingredients for her birthday cake and party, but while there, a few mishaps occur, leading to a final disaster on the way home. Maggie is still excited for her birthday though and Steve tries his best to make it go well with a fun surprise at the end. This picture book is based on the Steve and Maggie YouTube show which I personally haven't seen prior to reading this book, and although I think this book will be more fun for fans of the show than those who aren't, it still can be read by those that haven't seen it and it has a lovely ending with something nice happening for Maggie that's unexpected.The illustrations are so fun, and when you see what the real Steve and Maggie look like, they are a good likeness too. The way the characters look in the book, their expressions when things are happening is fun to see, and I love the really colourful pages which make every image even more fun to look at. The last page explains a little more about the real Steve and Maggie, along with a picture. Overall it's a fun picture book which will probably be appreciated much more by fans of Steve and Maggie than those who haven't seen the show, but a fun story and picture book nonetheless. :)-Thanks to Walker Books for a free copy.
