However I can definitely say that the Paradigm Shift series of books are just amazing! Perfect content
I read few books on this topic including Ross Bentley's Ultimate Speed Secrets and Skip Barber's Going Faster as well as few others. However I can definitely say that the Paradigm Shift series of books are just amazing! Perfect content, very well written, no vague statements just pure explanation from the physics standpoint. It's not too technical though so anyone can really understand it.It's just simply the best book!

Good book if you want to go that step further ...
Good book if you want to go that step further and shave those final fractions of seconds per lap, might be too much as a first driving techniques title - I'd probably recommend reading it when you have at least the basics covered first. Very informative, although there's far too many "we'll cover that later" bits as you go along, but due to the subject that's kind of inevitable.Still a good read and definitely worth diving into if you're either a sim-racer, visiting your karting track often, or you're just a regular track day participant.

Racing drivers need this. For real or sim racing.
Fantastic book. Really gets into what makes a vehicle fast. The corner. Anyone can press a pedal to speed up but its how you corner that sorts the best from the worst and this book not only tells you how to do it clearly, but also how to spot when others are doing it poorly. Just brilliant.

Excellently written and well laid out. The whole series ...
Excellently written and well laid out. The whole series is a must-read for people with track experience looking to find those final tenths.

I really like the idea of these books, adding an understanding of basic physics to the art of driving a racing car, but it didn't work for me. Also feel that splitting them into 3 lightweight volumes is just a gimmick.

Good value book
A good book explained in plain English also a good price.

Complete Drivel
“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.” If only the author had listened. This book assumes a car is a point mass, (all forces going through the centre of gravity) and hence no under-steer or over-steer is considered, this is dismissed as ‘car control’, fair enough, but then I’d expect a rigorous analysis of a point mass, but nothing of the sort, just a few contradictory statements, (you should be on full throttle from the apex, unless you’re in a powerful car and there’s wheel spin, (remember over steer isn’t considered), or a low powered car when a constant radius corner is best… WHAT!!!).We are told following an Euler spiral is the quickest way around a corner, but no proof is given, and looking at the equation this is by no means obvious as half the book is based on this, I’d expect a proof, or at least a reference to a proof, but don’t worry this too is contradicted later in the book.In the introduction the author states, ‘A PhD in physics isn’t necessary to read this book’, more accurately: a knowledge of school-boy physics will leave you frustrated and feeling robbed. This book is so bad it’s almost worth reading for a laugh, just don’t pay for it. Note this isn’t avlible in a real book shop as anyone picking it you before buying would leave it on the shelf.
