Duplicates of the Rebels from core game set
These are very nice wargaming miniatures for the Star Wars Legion game, they are the same models that you get two sets of in the core game set for the Rebellion era game, which makes them a good way of adding the classic Star Wars era to the game if you have bought the Clone Wars set, or if you want triplcates of the troopers from the core set.

It's ok, if you liked X-Wing you'll probably like this.
Finally got this game after a nightmare dealing with Amazon regards delivery. The models look very nicely detailed in hard plastic - they recommend using superglue rather than a polystyrene cement glue to put them together. It seems to be a typical Fantasy Flight games when you look at the rules : special dice (not enough in the box though, meaning you will have to roll in batches), lots of cards with stats and add on cards to add extra equipment. On first glance the rules seem similar to X-Wing if you have played that. On my first read through of the rules they didn't seem laid out nor written very well. It doesn't feel like a 'wargame', more like a 3D boardgame/cardgame combo with the way it works. I only bought it for the figures to be fair and I'll find much better rule sets to use. This also ups the price of the expansion packs (which you will need otherwise this is a very limited game) as you have to get all the added on cards, tokens and so forth with the figure packs. I feel in this way it is a shame Fantasy Flight games have the Star Wars license. A games company that deals with 'traditional style' wargames would do better I feel regards rules and army compilation (or even just making and selling the models) - bar Games Workshop as you would end up paying way over the odds for the product. It would be nice if FFG sold the miniatures separately but I think they know gamers will buy them anyway and can keep the costs high by selling them with all the bits for their rules. It's a shame, Star Wars is a great license to use for wargames, it has a massive scope with lots of troops, aliens, vehicles waiting to be used. If you like the FFG mechanics of games like X-Wing, you'll most probably really enjoy this.
