KONG - Naturals Premium Catnip - Premium North American Grown - 2 Ounce

WOW!!!! This is the 2nd box of KONG 2 Ounce Premium Catnip I've purchased. As noted, each one comes with a toy imbedded in the 'nip. My kids went crazy for that toy. I just adopted a feral cat, and wanted to show him how much fun and wonderful living with me can be. So, I went to spot on my bed where he loves to lay (as long as I'm at LEAST 50 feet away,) and liberally sprinkled catnip and left the toy in there. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!! Such ecstasy and joyous sounds emanated from that room. I think I totally, paws down, convinced him that captivity is the way to go!!!!!The catnip is incredibly compressed in there. I don't know how they pack so much in. So when this 2nd box arrived, I filled the previously empty 1st jar 3/4 of the way up with catnip, and then will take all forgotten mouse-like toys that aren't being used, and cover them up and keep them in the nip jar for a long, long time.You absolutely WILL NOT BELIEVE the difference and joy when you finally bring them out again. A very, very inexpensive magnificent investment for recycling old toys instead of buying tons of new ones constantly.I can't even BEGIN to recommend this product high enough. Now, cat sites have said that there is a fairly new product called Silvervine that almost 100% of cats react to, and get even more ecstatic from. Even cats that don't react to catnip. So I immediately went to AMAZON (where else would anyone ever go,) and did a search for Silvervine. Wow!! I INSTANTLY realized something. I could either pay my rent or buy my kids the Silvervine, but there was NO WAY that I could afford to do both. This catnip jar will last you a VERY long time. Do you feel that your furkids don't even REMOTELY care about ANYTHING you do for them??? You want to see a change of heart from Mr. or Ms Kitty??? Then RUN, don't walk, and get this incredibly cheap but awesome product, and they will be licking your feet in gratitude, appreciation, and true adoration. Even feral cats can have their hearts softened when presented with this great feline gift!May the true spirit of Santapaws be with you all year long, and EVERY SINGLE LIVING ANIMAL prays that Santapaws will come to THEIR house (or alley) every day. Know he is real, and you can bring the true spirit of Santapaws to your cat every single day of the year. They are pure and without guile, and truly deserve any amount of spoiling or indulgence you may shower upon them.

Kong premium catnip comes in a nice metal container very well sealed to preserve freshness. My cats really like this catnip better than some of the other brands that I have used. Shipping was very fast and well packaged. It is a bit expensive though.

The skinny: I have 3 cats, all around 10 years old. Only one will spontaneously play (e.g.: find a random piece of napkin and throw it up in the air and attack it) because he has some Siamese in him (apparently they are playful well into adult years). One hates the other two and will hiss and run from them. I bought a large cat house because two of them recently started using the area carpets as scratching pads. They were using the cat house, one, maybe two at a time to sleep, but not to play and scratch. I bought this cat nip, sprinkled it on the platforms and scratching posts as well as the hanging toys. OH MY GOD!!!!! All three of them played on it at once, by themselves and a little with each other. Even the cat who hates the other two was putting her paw up through holes to try to attack, in a playful way, the other cats' tails. They were rolling around, rubbing on every corner and SCRATCHING the posts!This nip seems high quality to me because the flakes are big enough where the cats won't inhale them and cough, they can chew on them, the residual powder that stays on toys is still powerful even after the flakes fall off. In fact, I lured one of my cats upstairs to the cat house simply because when I woke him up, he smelled cat nip on my fingers and just HAD to follow me to find the source of this incredible smell. Yes, you can smell it when you open the can, but it's not something that will stink up your house or your hands (even though my cats can still smell it on my fingers).I was concerned about buying this because some reviewers said their cats didn't even react. These same cats apparently did react to store-bought catnip toys. I'm so glad I bought this because my cats, also prone to enjoy store-bought catnip, reacted very favorably.I'm usually lazy about writing reviews, but I love to see my kitties happy so I wrote this about 6 hours after opening it. They love this!

My cat is a total snob, and has never even pretended to like cat nip.Well, I am a big lover of Kong products, so I thought I would give it one more try, so I can be sure my cat is spoiled enough <sigh>!While reading one review, the reviewer mentioned putting the toy IN the catnip. Well, that just made a light go on in my head. You see, I am new to this cat thing, and it never occurred to be something like this would work. Guess what?My cat is finally playing with her toy!! Okay, so it was for 2 minutes. In this house it's a real miracle. I want to thank that reviewer for that awesome tip!I am now going to leave a toy in the jar for a few days and see what happens. I will report back if something new occurs.UPDATE 3/14/14: Keeping the cat toys in the jar has changed everything. What a great idea. Now when I take out a toy, I at leastGet the kitty's attention for a little while, and I can enjoy her acting silly with her cat nip. Great fun!!
