Works with home assistant.
I purchased 3 of these to work with home assistant. I am using a esp32 Bluetooth proxy to control these. Be sure to set them up with the WiFi hub first so that the key can transfer to the account. Then you can set it up with the august or Yale integration and remove the wifi hub. Works great!

Works well.
Works well. We'll see how long the battery lasts. Love being able to use fingerprint to operate it.

August lock?
The lock looks exactly as the august lock, the app is identical and if you have an account you can use it instead of downloading the Yale app.Setup isn't hard BUT the lack of paper instructions can be frustrating. You need to scan a QR code to load the video and if your screen turns off then you need to scan it again. I scanned the QR code at least 5 times before completing the installation. The application needs work, finding settings can be annoying, the keypad is a great idea but also needs work. You can only setup one finger and if you want to switch finger then need to delete the old data. Ultraloq fingerprint scanner and keypad setup was great and this seems like a downgrade even though the prices are higher. You can send an invitation to someone to have access but they need a US phone number.Needed to reset and setup the they pad multiple times before it started to work properly.Switched from Ultraloq which was amazing but they don't offer retrofit variant and building management requested I reinstall original key lock. It is quiet compared to Ultraloq but functionality is subpar.

Worst Product from Yale
Hi, I would request Yale to provide detailed document. The installation is fine but setup process is one of the worst. There is no document. I spent 150$ for the installation guy and he spent almost 3 hours to setup with lots of trouble. Since i have got the product today, I will test this product for next 1 week. Current issues.1. Bluetooth keeps on dropping.2. Have to reset multiple times.3. Very poor document.4. App is not great..I would request Amazon to stop selling this kind of product without checking installation process, setup & document.I have to struggle and have to spend 150$ on top of product price for installation and setup.I would not recommend this product. I hope Amazon to take action immediately before customer start return the item.2nd Part Review:The notification are showing incorrect. 1st notification it has been locked. 2nd notification lock was not initiated. 3. The app says locked.Tell me, which one you will trust.I will continue to test for this week and update here.4th reviewFalse notification, i am in my home still i get notification, door has been opened.Thanks.

My 2nd August Yale lock
Great lock. Easy to install and remove, if needed. Software is intuitive. Easy to invite guests with cell number and remove them when access no longer needed. I’ve been using this same lock at a rental property for about 4 years with no issues. With the wireless bridge you can control remotely. Can connect to Alexa and Google home, if you want. I love the auto-unlock and auto-lock features (only for owners). You walk up to door and without opening app, the door unlocks, then re-locks at a user-defined time period, if you want. Not particularly noisy when locking and unlocking door. You need a smoothly operating deadbolt before installing (no catching or pulling door to lock and unlock).4/15/25 both are still working great !!

Installation was a snap, works, better than expected
Some reviews say there are no instructions. WRONG! There is one little piece of paper with two QR codes. One walks you through the lock installation, and the second walks you through the bridge installation. It took around 30 minutes to complete the installation. Now when I approach the door, it unlocks. Once in the house, the door locks after a preset time that you provide. It can be unlocked through Alexa after providing a verbal unlock code. Through the bridge and the app, it can be locked or unlocked from anywhere you have cell or wifi service. Great buy!

Lock documentation is EXTREMELY Poor. No Manual for the Yale Approach Lock and usage.
The web page supporting this lock is very bad. The information it does give is very thin at most. It is obvious this lock is made and supported by an engineering team in China. The documentation is not up to American standards. There is no PDF manual that can be referred to or printed. There is supposed to be a 'One Touch Lock' functionality from the keypad. On my Approach Lock system it does not seem to be functional. I attempted to find something that referred to it on the web site and no information can be found. If it is there it is not easily accessible for someone looking for that information. After entering my wife's fingerprint the keypad would not unlock the door lock with codes entered on the keypad or by use of the fingerprint, hers or mine. To get into the house required the use of the Yale app on our phone. The keypad had locked itself out. After the keypad came back on line the interaction with the lock was so slow. The door lock locked itself 5 minutes after I entered my fingerprint to unlock the door.Overall this product is poorly engineered and the support for the product, i.e. a manual for example, is EXTREMELY poor. I don't know if there is a better product on the market but there easily could be this product is so bad. This product and Yale in general would benefit from having a good product manager and better marketing department.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.I would like to recommend it because the retrofit deadbolt lock idea is a good idea, but the implementation and engineering in this case is very poor.
