Unfortunately for me, my lips dry easily. Wearing myotape (mouth tape) at night reduces how often my lips get chapped and peel. However, my lips still need regular care. I have been using chapstick that doesn't contain standard endocrine disruptors, petrochemicals, and artificial dyes for years. Since there's concern about the high omega 6 content (and possible inflammatory repurcussions) of using chapsticks that contain sunflower seed oil, etc. In them, I decided to try beef tallow.Most beef tallows come in tins and must be applied by hand, and then the hands must be washed. This product gives you the ability to apply beef tallow to your lips without having to directly apply your fingers to your lips. This is a must have!

While I was really excited to have a natural lip balm with only the three ingredients of beef tallow, beeswax and honey, I was immediately disappointed when I opened the package and a horrible fragrance was noticeable! I thought it might have just been the cardboard packaging but when I put the lip balm on my lips it was very apparent the fragrance is in the lip balm itself. It tasted and smelled like a floral fabric softener mixed with your great grandmother’s perfume. The smell is so pungent my daughter could smell it when she walked into the room. I don’t know what has been added to this lip balm but it is not pure as described. For reference, I know what beef tallow smells and tastes like and we raise honeybees for honey and wax so I am very familiar with what they smell and taste like as well. I hope if this company outsources the making of this product they can get this corrected for people who purchase this in the future. I will not be purchasing this product again.

Awful fragrance is overpowering, for lip balm it’s like a perfume has overtaken my mouth. I will have to use this for hands but I had it on for two mins had to wipe it from my mouth.

What changed?? I got one in the fall and LOVED it more than any lip balm ever! But I just got two more (one for my car and one for my bag) and it has a strong chemical smell. I’ve used it for a week, hoping the smell would fade somehow, but it hasn’t. I would love an answer from the company about what changed. And please change back to the original formula! It was lovely, smooth with a slight sweet taste from the honey. The first one was 5 stars, and now I would say 2 at most, so I tried to average it at 4 stars (with hope for a change).

Fantastic chapstick! Recently switched to natural products and bought this and loved it. It’s a big chapstick, I wish they’d make smaller tube. I ended up switching to Simple Sophistication because they offered a tinted version. This is still a really great product though!

Not sure what I think yet. It's softer than a normal chapstick which makes it hard to apply. It's also strange tasting. But, my lips do not dry out fast like they do with a normal chapstick. I'm a little on the fence about it.

Edit: Something seems to be different with the current version. Why does "pure tallow, beeswax, and raw honey" smell (and taste!) like cheap perfume? Ick. Good luck getting that scent out of your brain. And what the heck is it? I don't know why they changed it but it unfortunately wasn't an improvement. It's too bad. It made a great foot balm. Pretty moisturizing and the size and form factor made it easy to apply. Hope it comes back the way it was._______This has great/safe ingredients. It's huge. And the company seems legit so I tried it. I've given it a go and it's okay but it seems like the proportions would need to be adjusted to be more of a balm. It's good… just a little too greasy. This feels more like I just put my tallow moisturizer on my lips instead. I get that from Fancy Farm and I guess I'm going to have to stock up on theirs if I don't find something else here that has that consistency. (And no seed oils!) Lip balm needs staying power or it just becomes a nuisance.
