It’s a little confusing because of the cord there is a battery back up that can be used as battery only which makes it really good because most people don’t have power for a power cord. It’s not clear that there is a way to make a battery operated.

I don't think I've ever purchased a product that failed so miserably to perform its core function as this. I followed the installation and set up directions to the letter and it has never worked properly. It doesn't sense a car pulling in, and it randomly goes off after the car has been parked for hours. Armor All should be ashamed.

Got this to replace my stop sign that fell over and broke into pieces. It is seen in one of my pics after being glued back together to have something until this item arrived. After reading reviews from other users, I was concerned about the functionality but it is actually not bad. I did open the display unit in an attempt to silence the audible chirp, but wound up just putting some tape over the speaker (see pic) to lessen the sound, as I really just need the visual that the stop sign provided. I also thought I had a sensor issue, however I realized that my old stop sign was too close to the sensor and was constantly being detected (see pic). Once I moved this, the unit went quiet. It does detect any movement near it, as designed, but when I’m working in the garage, I just turn off the sensor until I’m finished. Calibrating is pretty simple with the buttons. The only issue I’ve noticed is that the template for mounting the sensor on a wall is backwards (see pic) and there is a typo in the instructions (see pic), indicating that the sensor should be mounted about 5 feet high. Actually the display unit should be mounted 5 feet high or so. Otherwise, so far so good.

I live in an over-55 community. The house has a two-car garage that housed my wifes minivan and my Honda Accord. I wanted to buy an SUV to replace the Honda sedan. I tried finding one that matched the dimensions of my sedan and purchased it. Although the SUV fits, the height makes it difficult for me to determine where the front has to be for the garage door to close.I spent some time with reviews, the ball on a string would not work since I would need a 12 ft. ladder to reach the ceiling. While browsing on Amazon I spotted this one and it looked like a perfect fit.Admittedly, it was new with no reviews which I try to avoid when making a purchase. Regardless, I needed something besides asking my wife to check the back of the car every time I pulled into the garage. I ordered it and true to Amazon's amazing speed I received it quite quickly.Mounting is easy, everything you need is supplied. Once we determined where to put the stop light we were able to mount the sensor near the floor and plug it into an outlet close by.The difficult part was the adjustment. The instructions give you some ideas but it is a trial and error process. I had the idea to pull the car out and use myself as the car to determine if I could set off the alarm and lights. After some trials, we got the distance set and pulled the car in. It worked and now I am very happy, except for one thing. If you step in front of the sensor to get to our fridge, the alarm starts to go off for about ten seconds, we can live with that.

This works as advertised, you will need an outlet near by. The audile noise that works with the lights is real annoying while working in the garage. You have to turn the device off and remember to turn it back on. Would be nice if there was a silent mode, you can't hear the audible warning in the car anyway.

You must have an outlet nearby. It makes a constant awful loud clicking sound. All i need is a light to know where to stop not a screaming alarm every time i walk near it. Adjustment is not precise only offer estimated distances. i had a similar style battery operated one that was precise and quiet, it finally gave out after 12 years couldn't find that make anymore. Very disappointed.

Listen, it takes a little while to get it adjusted.It does exactly what it says it does.The only problem, it does it a little too well. after a few weeks of that beeping.. You just want to drive into the garage wall to make it shut up.But it will do the job you asked it to do.

I ordered this item and got it and installed it according to instructions. After it was installed it would not work like it was supposed to. I filed for a warranty and am awaiting a replacement any day.
