Go for it
They are great and have a perfect light and heat. I love how it was packed and packaging is pretty attractive .

got a dud, but replacement works great
I was disappointed that the first bulb I received was a dud - it looked intact but didn't work in any of the appropriate fixtures I tried. But I returned it for a replacement bulb which Amazon shipped the next day and the replacement works great! It registers in the low-medium range on my UVB tester card from the appropriate hanging distance, which suits the requirements for my box turtle. It heats the ambient temp of the enclosure to a comfortable 75 degrees, and registers 92 degrees directly under the bulb (temp outside the enclosure is 67 degrees). The bulb emits a pretty natural daylight glow, and is not so bright that it hurts my eyes, so it should be safe for my turtle as well. You may be able to adjust the distance of this bulb or use in conjunction with a heat emitter or basking bulb to meet your specific reptile's needs. For right now, this bulb works as a stand-alone solution to meet my turtle's UVB and thermal requirements. Keep in mind that vapor bulbs have a max lifespan of 6 months for UVB, so test the output regularly and replace as needed.

Update, it does last.
Updated: I found out the bulb didn’t actually go out but it had to cool before coming back on. As of today it is still working. It would have been helpful to have that info the specifics so people will know this tidbit.Received 2/12/24 and it went out 3/19/24. So disappointed.

Long lasting!
I've read other reviews on this that mention the bulb burns out, but mine is lasted a year now and is going great! I use it for about 8 hours a day to heat my reptile tank. The key is to not turn it on and off frequently that is what can kill the life of the bulb.

Regret buying the pos
Mine crapped out on me in less than a week.

Great Lighting Product
Pretty solid product, had a small scare with it switching off randomly but that was more on my end, only thing to be aware is that it is BIG, and produces alot of heat so careful when handling it!

It's very to large
I chose the wrong type and size for my Turtle tank. It's to big for the Clamp light. It probably is too strong for my set up. There is nothing wrong with the light bulb. I need to return it.

Not the best, not the worst.
I found that my smaller heat light puts out more heat than this one. It seems to be best to have separate bulbs instead of trying to put them both in one for my situation. Therefore this is not my main heat source but I do have it as an option to turn on if I need more heat, which is uncommon.
